Luke is an incredibly talented photographer who was able to capture the essence of how freediving makes me feel. He knows the Yukatan area well and made me feel comfortable during our whole session. He also made sure that we had a safety diver in place...I appreciate his safety practices. Thank you Luke for capturing these memories for me!!

We had an amazing experience diving with Luke. We were in Tulum for Cenote diving and Luke really guided us to the best spots. A very calm and professional dive master. You feel immediately at ease and he’s an amazing photographer. Overall: best guy to go to for diving experiences in Tulum and around.

My husband and I had an amazing time diving with Luke. His attention to detail along with his energetic personality were exactly what we desire while traveling to new places. We were well informed by his dive briefings while his whit and charm held our attention, even underwater. Would we dive with Luke again? Most definitely.

I had an amazing experience over 5 days of diving and underwater photography with Luke! He has real passion and skill with his craft and in addition to that, was a genuine pleasure to hang out with, which is really important when you're spending 5 days with someone! My friend and I did a variety of work with Luke; he did photoshoot sessions for us (both freediving and scuba diving!), underwater photography workshops and was also our dive guide in the cenotes and ocean and he excelled at every one of these! He's a super safe, accomplished dive guide, has great equipment, provides amazing homemade healthy snacks, plans the best times to go to which cenotes for the best light, least crowds and will also take amazing photos for you (provided he isn't guiding). Just an all-around huge pleasure to be around and Luke is going to be the only person I'll be diving with in Mexico when I return!

I recently got into underwater photography and started asking photographers on Instagram for advice on how to get started. After a couple people independently pointed me to Luke for his introduction to underwater photography workshop I decided to reach out to him. Luke immediately responded and provided me with various options for workshops and time slots. I chose his two hour workshop and we had our course scheduled within the week of me reaching out! Luke’s course was amazing, he provided me with all of the background someone interested in photography would need to get started without a multi-year learning curve. In addition to the basics of camera function and terminology, I was also given tips and suggested methods of setting my camera for the unique conditions I dive in. If I did not take this course it would taken me a couple seasons to get to this point. What makes Luke’s course so valuable is that his focus is to solely make you a better photographer with the gear you have, and not pushing certain types of gear or equipment to help you reach a level of proficiency. With his guidance I can easily see a solid five years of shooting before I could ever need an upgrade to my setup. I would highly recommend his courses to anyone looking to get into underwater photography, he is quick to respond and very helpful with incidental questions as you literally dive into the hobby.

If you are considering diving in the Tulum/ Playa del Carmen/ Cozumel areas, I highly recommend Luke Coley as a photographer, guide, and/or mentor (for underwater photography workshops/ instruction). My friend and I spent 8 days in Playa Del Carmen primarily to visit the beautiful & unique cenotes of the area, and I'm grateful we found Luke who was invaluable during this incredible adventure! In addition to being an excellent scuba diving guide (calm, safe, knowledgeable) on a variety of cenote dives and ocean dives, we also hired Luke as a photographer for two more cenote scuba dives and during our last day of free diving instruction as well. All I can say is Luke's photographs are phenomenal! The way he is able to capture the color/ light/ & composition under water is truly amazing. While my friend is the burgeoning photographer who (very happily) took an underwater photography workshop with Luke, I'm inspired to return to take a beginner's workshop myself. Aside from his professionalism, Luke is also just a nice guy to hang out with, which makes a huge difference in overall experience. Luke knew the best times to go to all the cenotes we visited, and when the light was optimal for both enjoying and for photography. We were treated to excellent/ delicious lunches after our dives (much appreciated accommodating my gluten-free/ vegan dietary requests!), and I can't wait to see the cenotes and to dive with Luke again.

Luke and co. were awesome! So glad he was referred to me by a good friend of mine. Communication was on point, he was chill and waited for me to catch my breath at times (walking from the parking lot to the cenote entrance with all your gear is no joke, esp when all you’ve been used to has been boat diving lol), I felt safe following his lead, and had a blast flying amongst the lights in the cenotes! The homemade burrito at the end was cherry on top. I couldn’t have asked for a better first time cavern dive guide. Thanks so much and will be back for more!!

Diving with Luke is fantastic! He is a great guide, very knowledgeable about the cenotes and made the day super easy. I went with him twice on a previous trip and again this trip. He is also a fantastic photographer and if that’s your interest he will take you to the best photogenic cenotes and at the right times for things like sunbeams. He also does photo shoots, so if you want to have great shots of yourself he can arrange that too. I highly recommend him and look forward to diving with him again in the future.
