My heart is still broken and today I just don't have the words to express all my pain ...
There are no words for what we are going through that is why I steal the words of my cousin Luis Angel Luna Davila, who has the gift of expressing himself with such beautiful words towards my uncle ...
In Memory of a Great Man:
Dr. Hernán Soto Morales
The expression: "there are no words" makes sense in men of the size of my uncle. There are no adjectives in the language that encapsulate the quality and warmth of a human being that he was on this earth. His life was inclined to serve others, without distinction of social class or carnal kinship. He always left his personal well-being as the last resort. There is no doubt that he already enjoys the presence of the Creator. Its essence already from here, could be equaled with that of the angels themselves.
Man who gave himself and loved to the extreme. He was seldom upset, never frustrated, tired, or in a bad mood. His everyday expression was that of a smile, always having time for everything and everyone. Admirable conviction that accompanied him throughout his life: serving others; his own political and life motto testifies to this: "For the pleasure of Serving."
A complaint, reproach or criticism was never heard from him, his heart was limited to harboring a single feeling: love; he loved his own and strangers, God in the first instance, and then his blood, professional, and adoptive families from Montemorelos. If at some point in his life he had a sour drink, he decided to erase it from his memory, there was no room in him for hatred or resentment.
For those of us who had the privilege of being cared for and accompanied by him, life will not be the same from today. Just seeing and listening to him made us feel better, sure that we were in the best hands. Where will we find equal hands? Who will we turn to when we need assistance? They are questions and shortcomings with which we will have to get used to living.
Doctor Soto, you leave a huge hole, impossible to fill. We could never or wanted to imagine a life without your company, perhaps because of selfishness, or perhaps because your strength made us believe that you would always be with us. Where you stepped, you left your mark, and we realized that no matter where you come from, or how many deficiencies you have had, or how hard the road has been, humility and the privilege of serving are the most precious assets.
Doctor Soto you loved what you did and who you helped. Calls during the day and at night, home visits, surgeries in the morning, late meals in the best of cases, absence from parties, birthdays, family gatherings, showers on the run, four-hour sleep breaks, holidays, Fridays and non-existent weekends. You sacrificed your comfort for the pleasure of serving, and that is priceless. We still hear your peculiar whistle, and the joy with which you dismissed each of your patients, responding to the Thank you they gave you with a: to serve them, which was effective at all times.
Now like Saint Paul, Doctor Soto, you can say: “I have fought the good fight, I have finished my degree, I have kept the faith. The crown of Justice is reserved for me, which the Lord, the Just Judge, will give me on that day ”.
"A compass that guides, a beacon that guides, but above all a heart ❤ that shares, that is what you are for us: DOCTOR SOTO.
THANK YOU, THANK YOU VERY MUCH, AND WITH THE LOVE FOREVER.
