★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Wow! Some of the best tacos I’ve had. The staff was friendly and the food is great. The menu is simple, just get the tacos. You have a choice of hard or crispy shell, and then your choice of meat. You can watch them being made.
The chocolate cake flan is wonderful and highly recommended. The margaritas are strong and well made!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I ate here at least twice a week every week for the month I lived in Vallarta. The staff is so friendly and Mario makes the best margaritas in PV! Possible the best in Mexico as I have spent 3 months in 4 cities and none are as good. The food here is great and I appreciated the cultural lessons on the dishes. I would say the fish and shrimp tacos were my favorite. After the hurricane in August I didn't see them for a few days and then I left Vallarta. I hope all of you are okay and safe... and I hope to see you again!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Cash only! Excellent taqueria and you get a good amount of tacos very similar to the street tacos. Their drinks are super good (I recommend the tamarind agua fresca). Super nice guys, good music not so loud so you can hear each other. Give them a try.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ If you haven’t tried Don Chavez you’re missing authentic and delicious Mexican food reasonably priced. The restaurant has a warm authentic feel with the charms of old town. The chef and staff are at your disposal making this experience 5 stars!
