After experiencing reduced acuity and clouding in one eye I searched for the best ophthalmologist for consultation. After considering a number of recommended doctors I chose Dr. Ivo Ferreira M.D., an outstanding physician from Uruguay, who is in Mexico City on a Research Fellowship. Dr. Ivo is young, energetic, personable, extremely intelligent, and speaks English fluently. He is a member of the Pan-American Association of Ophthalmology, and the American Academy of Ophthalmology. He specializes in cataract and refractive surgery. The relationship with his patients is extraordinary, as he is the most caring and attentive ophthalmologist. He prefers not to have lines of patients waiting outside his office so that he can give as much time needed to each patient, seeking the most effective patient solutions through explanations, 3D models and instruction. After the decision was made to move forward with surgery, Dr. Ivo patiently explained the process, costs, facilities, and the surgical assistant, and anesthesiologist. The procedure went exactly as Dr. Ivo had explained, and was followed by two consultations, and additional email follow-ups after the surgery. In an unexpected surprise, the surgery also improved my distant vision to perfection. I no longer need corrective lenses and the clarity of my vision has never been better! Dr. Ivo made a potentially stressful situation calm, confident and successful. I most highly recommend this outstanding ophthalmologist in every regard, professionally and personally.

Dr. Ivo Ferreira has the highest level of expertise in his profession. I was experiencing a sudden blur of vision, in my left-eye, with black liquid-like visuals. As soon as I made an appointment, via online, Dr. Ivo Ferreira had texted me to make sure everything was alright. The very next day, the doctor took the time to explain the basic's of what my symptoms could be and how the comprehensive exam will help, both him and I, understand what was going on. I cannot thank the the doctor enough for helping me understand what my symptom was and making sure I stayed calm throughout the entire process of the eye exam. Thank you, doctor!

Dr. Ivo Ferreira was an excellent service provider for me and my mother. With patience he examined the two of us while informing and explaining what he was seeing in each individual test. He was open to questions and offered excellent guidance in suggesting the next steps for improving eye sight and with it life quality. I was in CDMX for work and suddenly I felt an enormous pressure in my eye, it turned red and my vision got blurry. I immediately knew I had to see an eye doctor. Dr Ivo Ferreira was recommended by a friend. I must say he went above and beyond when took me in for an appointment on a Sunday night when he is normally close. Dr. Ferreira was very profesional and carrying, probably one of the best eye doctors I’ve ever meet. Not only did he help me heal my eye but he was also very patient and explained what was causing the problem and the steps to follow. He even recommended an incredible ophthalmologist in NYC where I was going, for a follow up. Hands down the best ophthalmologist I’ve ever meet.

Dr. Ivo is a great Doctor with a lot of expertise and even though he attended my 5 year old daughter and I on a Sunday he did it with a lot of patience, he answered all my questions, provided me with different alternatives and options related to my case. His medical office is also well equipped and the location is superb in between La Condesa and Roma Norte. Great doctor!! Thank you Dr. Ivo!

This will be a lengthy review, however is worth the time. If you are looking for a eye procedure in Mexico, I will say from my experience I couldn’t choose anyone better than Dr. Ferreira, his personable treatment and understanding the patient's need separate him from the rest! He walked me through the process of selecting the best treatment for me as well as making sure I was 100 percent a candidate for the treatment I got! I couldn’t be more pleased with the results I can say my procedure outcome was 200 percent better than I expected, however it couldn’t be a better team then Dr. Ivo’s team young, professionals and so knowledgeable! Dr. Ivo is a fantastic and empathetic ophthalmologist. As a foreigner in Mexico City with my first viral eye infection, I saw two other doctors before finding Dr. Ivo, and I was so grateful when I did. I fully understood his diagnosis, as well as the treatment plan options he explained. My infection required frequent follow-up appointments, and Dr. Ivo squeezed me in every few days for as long as needed. I felt respected and fully cared for as a patient. The timing of my eye infection was unfortunate - shortly before a trip to Europe. Dr. Ivo connected me to other equally amazing ophthalmologists in the cities I was going to, allowing me to feel relaxed and prepared to travel. I would HIGHLY recommend Dr. Ivo to anyone.
