Having become used to the rushed and, at times, uncaring doctors in the States, it is a wonderful change.
I hope he never retires!

He has been written about in several newspaper articles covering his knowledge and his above and beyond treatment of patients. If you have a problem he will see that you are taken care of. He has even taken patients himself to larger facilities to other cities to see Doctors. He truly cares for his patients as if you were in his family. He has been in this area for many many years and has patients that return to the area to see him.

I called him today and his daughter who has taken over the business informed me he had died, I was stunned and very sad. I had noticed he lost a lot of weight but I always thought I would see him again. I started going to him in 2003. He has a beautiful family. Rest peacefully Doctor, thank you for listening to me. See you soon.
I went to Dr Lastra's daughter, Dr. Lastra, she prescribed some medication that eradicated a debilitating stomach condition, that had been going on for many months, it kept me bedridden on most days, ruining my quality of life. Thank you so much Dr. Lastra, my quality of life went from a 3 to a 7. If I improved my diet further it will probably go to an 8:)
