La endodoncia es el tratamiento que se realiza para salvar un diente de ser extraído. Entre sus indicaciones principales son cuando el nervio del diente (pulpa) se encuentra en un estado de inflamación que no puede ser reparado con la terapia convencional o que la pulpa murió y tiene que ser retirado del diente o bien cuando el diente no puede ser reparado sin tener que retirar la pulpa (indicación protésica).
