Es un excelente médico. Explica todos los procedimientos de manera que lo entiendas todo. Es súper paciente. Mi cirugía fue un éxito y gracias a él y su equipo tengo controlada la presión intraocular de mis ojos. El glaucoma está controlado. Además de ser un gran médico es un gran ser humano!

Was getting some pricing for a future trip to CDMX and was told different prices. This happened after the doctor found out I was from the State’s. Very unfair practices and goes to show you the poor character of the doctor.

Foreigners beware: they attempted to double charge me for Lasik. I was interested in getting Lasik done during my vacation to Mexico City. I came across this doctor who seams to be highly recommended. Though I am not from CDMX I have family in the city. A week ago I had a relative call and get me information including pricing. I decided to get in touch myself to schedule my consultation and procedure. Unfortunately I was told it would be 20,000 pesos PER eye. Which is normally the price for both eyes. I was clearly being targeted as a tourist/ foreigner. Very disappointed in this doctor for his unfair tactics. I do not recommend this doctor to tourists / foreigners. Español : Como extranjero/turista intentaron cobrarme el doble por Lasik. Ya estaba al tanto de los precios porque tengo familia en la ciudad. Hace una semana pidieron información sobre precios. Lo había reducido a elegir a este médico para obtener lasik. pero desafortunadamente cuando les hablé directamente me querían cobrar el doble. Me dijeron que 20,000 pesos eran por ojo. muy injusto, no se lo recomendaría a los turistas.

My father in law had to see an eye doctor urgently before taking a 11hr flight and I must say that Dr. Castañeda did an outstanding job, he was professional kind and the whole appointment was in English which made it so much easier for us. He explained everything and helped us a lot. highly recommend!

I came to Dr. Castañeda for LASIK eye surgery while visiting my parents for Christmas. I was well received with enough information and how to go about the surgery if I were in Mexico for a short time. He also made himself available in case of any urgencies or questions and guided me through what to expect for surgery. Overall a very positive experience and I recommend his professionalism and conversation/explanation skills!
