La tradición señala que dicho árbol fue traído del bosque de Sherwood en Nottinghamshire, Inglaterra. Fue plantado en 1880 por el profesor Agustín F. Blancas. Sin duda uno de los emblemas de la capital veracruzana y orgullo de los xalapeños. Conócelo.
