★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is a solid 3.5 star restaurant, bonus .5 star for the great service. Don't go in expecting the best seafood you've ever tasted and you'll be fine. The serving size is massive, I ordered the captain meal for two and it could have easily served 4 adults.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Our favourite dinner place in Tulum that was recommended to us by our accommodation. We went there several times. If you’re looking for a reasonable price, delicious seafood, cheap drinks and nice atmosphere, go for it. The location is close to the centre area.
Had one of my favourite meals there - fish tacos and mixed chevice. Also tried shrip pirate tacos, quesadillas. Portions are huge. Also very nice service.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ El capitan is a bit hit and miss. Locals go here and prices are great. Avoid the fish taco though - it's bland, not very crispy and quite unsatisfying. Tostadas are beautiful as is the plank steak. Atmosphere is decent and service is occasionally friendly but sometimes a bit cold.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We tried the seafood sampler for two ($1000 pesos). The ceviche was fine, the fish fillet was good, the fried fish was fine, we didn't eat the octopus. The service was good and food came out very quickly. The decor and atmosphere are okay. The prices are a little high. Overall, this place is okay. No need to go back.

Delicious food, very healthy portions and very fair prices (especially compared to the neighboring restaurants. )
Our service was great! We went back again the next night. The shrimp ceviche was the best I’ve had.
