el Ya’ax’che es el símbolo de la vida maya, es donde nació el primer hombre, por eso celebraban ceremonias y festividades bajo sus ramas, transmitiéndose poderes entre los gobernantes y los chamanes. En la cosmovisión maya, el centro está representado por una Ceiba y los tres niveles cósmicos salen de ésta: la Ceiba nace del centro de la tierra, sus troncos y ramas sostienen el cielo y sus raíces penetran en el inframundo maya.
Este majestuoso árbol puedes encontrarlo desde las selvas bajas de Riviera Maya hasta las selvas altas de Chiapas.

The Ya’ax’che is the symbol of Mayan life, it is where the first man was born, that is why they celebrated ceremonies and festivities under its branches, transmitting powers between the rulers and the shamans. In the Mayan worldview, the center is represented by a Ceiba and the three cosmic levels come out of it: the Ceiba is born from the center of the earth, its trunks and branches support the sky and its roots penetrate the Mayan underworld.
