Character oozes from every inch of the interior, with hundreds of framed photos of El Castor’s owner stood proudly beside Mexican stars who have eaten at his establishment. Let your eyes trace the trail of snapshots from one wall to the next, taking in decades of celebrity visits, and your gaze will then land on the man himself: El Castor’s founder, welcoming and seating diners. Decades on, he’s still there in the flesh, shaking hands with and kissing the cheeks of regulars who he’s probably known since before they could walk.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Visited this place on a work trip to Monterrey; a local team member took us. I would never have found or even thought to visit "The Beaver". An excellent local joint thou to be fair, I didn't get to visit a lot of other places.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Very nice place and the grill serving is quite good. Only parking availability and restrictions in space in between customers tables inside the place are things that Restaurant managers could improve and take actions for the sake of achieving good customer reviews.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I didn't like the food, the steak was over cooked and there were almost no options for the meal. The service was good. The restaurant is very old and covered in the owner's pictures with old celebrities.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Food is amazing! Fresh meats, and the table top salsa is just the right amount of spicy. Only wish it was bigger with more parking. Because when this place is popping, good luck finding a parking spot or a table. Signs of a great restaurant.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Its a hidden jewel under a simple shack. Be prepared to wait to be seated as it gets very crowded but it is worth it! Service was super fast! We had rib eye and guacamole, 4 individual servings of beans are included. Make sure you also try the lemonade with ice cream. Will definitely visit again.
