R	Rodrigo Gereda on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Cuidado! Si hace importación temporal el banco está cerrado el día lunes! Por lo que no puede entrar a Mexico con su vehículo ese día. Esto es una gran pérdida de dinero y de tiempo! Y es inaceptable para una frontera. El personal de la frontera puede ser amable o totalmente tóxicos dependiendo del estado de ánimo del día, como muchas fronteras. La frontera no tiene mucho movimiento, fácil de hacer trámites, y bastante limpia. No hay gasolineras de los dos lados de la frontera! Watch out! If you do a temporary import, the bank is closed on Monday! Therefore, you cannot enter Mexico with your vehicle on that day. This is a huge waste of money and time! And it is unacceptable for a border. Border staff can be friendly or downright toxic depending on the mood of the day, like many borders. The border does not have much movement, easy to do paperwork, and quite clean. There are no gas stations on both sides of the border!

J	Jim Taylor on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I have driven into Guatemala twice in the last year using the El Ceibo border crossing. Both times I was going to Flores, about 3 hours from border. There are not many vehicles that actually cross. It has taken me about 1 hour (with vehicle) to clear Mexico and get Temporary Vehicle permit for Guatemala. Personnel manning Immigration on both sides of border speak some English. There are regular buses from Tenosique that commute to border and passengers transfer onto Guatemalan bus. There are no gas stations in El Ceibo but, about 30 km into Guatemala there is a station. And, gas stations fairly frequent -- probably 6-8 more on road to Flores.
C	Christopher Kreisel on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Efficient border. Clean bathrooms. 3 hours to Flores and 3 hours to Palenque. To travel to or from Palenque, you must change buses in Tenosique and take a taxi across town. The small bus terminal to/from Palenque is on the edge of Tenosique and the bus to the border at El Ceibo picks up and drops off a few miles away on main road downtown Tenosique. Trip to or from Palenque to Flores is about 8 hours total so recommend starting at 7 am or 8 am to arrive at a pleasant hour. Border crossing hours are limited to daytime. El Ceibo has limited hotels and services so best to stay in Flores.
