This was five star quality and service. The servers are so well trained and ready to serve your every need. Great wine and cocktail list. The food was exceptional. This chef and his staff deserve the highest rating possible. There were four of us and we each ordered something different. I ordered the Duck Confit and I enjoyed it so much I was in heaven eating it. Every bite was wonderful. The plates look like pieces of artwork. I wish I had had room for dessert because they sounded lovely but I had to skip it. My friends enjoyed the tiramisu and homemade ice cream. The entire meal transported me to one of the fine dining restaurants on a cruise ship. Every detail was paid attention to. Some people may call El Charro pricey but I disagree. For the dining experience you are getting and the delightful food you will be eating, I say it was worth every penny. Thanks El Charro I can’t wait to go back again.

Excellent service and setting for inside or outdoor dining. Love the complimentary flavored vodka and appetizer. Great food! We had Beef Wellington and the shrimp capellini. Perfect!!!

A very special dining experience! Beautiful surroundings, excellent, attentive service and fabulous food. Hearing others' comments made me excited to try El Charro and it lived up to my expectations in every way. Definitely a fine dining experience. Ajijic Village is a different experience after dark. An amazing evening.

We recently moved to La Huerta in Ajijic from Savannah, GA. We have been exploring the many wonderful restaurants here, and have to say that El Charro is about the best! The ambience, service and food are all exemplary. Without having reservations, we were cheerfully greeted and immediately seated at a perfect corner table with views of the lovely patio. Our servers were professional, knowledgeable and attentive without being obtrusive. We were first served a complimentary Amuse Bouch - a Salmon Bellini with a shot of ice cold vodka. We enjoyed cocktails of Maker's Mark Manhattans prepared, shaken and served tableside. For appetizers we had the Green Ceviche with Octopus, Shrimp and Whitefish, as well as a generous serving of Avocado. The French Onion Soup is amazing - covered in golden Puff Pastry and served with Vueve Cliquot Champagne as a garnish. For our entrées, we both ordered the Beef Wellington with Dauphine Potatoes and a side Kale Salad. The Wellington was beautifully presented - very rare, and flavorful, with perfect accompaniments. We finished the evening with Tiramisu, Grand Marnier and Amaretto on the Rocks. We highly recommend El Charro and look forward to returning soon and often.

We enjoyed a wonderful dinner at El Charro last evening. The ambience, service, and food are some of the best we've found in Ajijic. Without reservations we were warmly greeted and seated at a comfortable corner table. For cocktails we started with Markers Mark Manhattans, prepared and shaken tableside. A complimentary Amuse Bouch followed - a Salmon Cucumber Bellini with an ice cold shot of Vodka. Appetizers consisted of French Onion Soup, covered in a golden Puff Pastry, garnished with Vueve Cliquot Champagne, and Ceviche with Octopus and Shrimp. We both ordered Beef Wellington for our entrée, served rare, with a side Kale Salad and Dauphine Potatoes. After dinner we shared a very creative and flavorful Tiramisu accompanied by Amaretto on the Rocks and Grand Marnier. Everything was wonderful and we look forward to returning soon and often since our recent move to Ajijic.

Spectacular service and attention. We had a beet salad and a ceviche. The staff offered a free shot of a polish vodka that was just amazing. Food was simply awesome. We got there just at closing time and they were very accommodating. 5 stars for all ⭐️!
