El Faro - Costa Maya - 77940 Mahahual

Fabulous view, good tacos and cold beer. It only loses a star because of price, but all restaurants at the port are expensive so I would have given 4.5 stars if it was an option.

Extremely disappointing for service, prices, and food (or the lack of food with my visit). Great location. I ordered and never got my food. When the server finally came, we addressed the problem and he showed me the check where it was wrote down initially. It happens, I got it, but if we were ever checked on during the visit, it would have been addressed in a timelier manner.

Great location but extremely overpriced. 16 dollars for chips and salsa, 18 dollars for three mini chicken tacos. Food was not good at all. Will not be back.

Good service. Paid $65 for 6 mini tacos and two sodas for lunch. Way over priced. Taking advantage of tourists. I’m all about paying a bit more. But have some integrity.

***CRUISERS BEWARE***DO NOT STOP HERE** 3rd time stopping at this port with cruise 2 other times were great today was a different story the Costa Maya port no longer had trolleys to take you to the beach so you will have to take a taxi $4 per person don't pay people at port any money as they try to sell you beach access all you need is to pay the taxi once at the beach find a place EXCEPT EL FARO!!! All you need is to purchase food/drinks to get chair, umbrella, wifi ect.. Going back to EL FARO, they are crooks charged $39 for 1 coke, 1 water bottle a piña colada and Miami vice. They were trying to charge us $130 for fish paid our tab didn't argue as we just wanted to get the heck out of their establishment moved 2 restaurants down bought the same food for $53. Wish we could give the -0 stars.

Came for a dolphin excursion that is right next to this establishment. Was told by guide to have myself, my 3 year old and my 79 year old parents (one with a wheelchair) that we can sit at one of the tables to wait. It was 9am and no one drinking beer or eating. I saw a bartender and asked if it was OK, he said yes. Came back 30minute after Taking pictures for my other kids and husband and told by another worker to get out as it's only for people who was eating or drinking. Could have just asked me to purchase something as I offered before but chose to kick out a handicapped, a young toddler and an elderly. These people have no kindness or compassion. Don't promote these businesses.

Everything is over priced. Decided against getting food because chips and salsa was $16. Drinks were also over priced. Tasty, but I am pretty there was no alcohol in it.

Great setting but very expensive. Menu showed a "small" drink price of $8 but we were brought a "Palm" drink for $16. Staff refused to acknowledge the error and behaved very suspiciously. We ended up paying full price just to remove ourselves from the situation. It created a very sour note on an otherwise great port visit. The $25 shrimp ceviche was good, but consisted of whole, cooked shrimp rather than diced shrimp I've had in traditional ceviche.
