En el corazón de Coyoacán se encuentra Frontón 1946, la cantina más antigua de la zona con más de 70 años de tradición, punto de reunion para disfrutar de las delicias de la comida oaxaqueña acompañadas por sus memorables mezcales.
Detrás de nuestra puerta de madera abierta desde mediados de los años cuarenta se han dado cita intelectuales, artistas y celebridades de la época: Diego Rivera, Frida Kahlo, Emilio «el Indio» Fernández y Augusto Monterroso estuvieron con nosotros frecuentemente. Nuestro espacio está lleno de anécdotas e historias sobre libros, arte, canciones y parrandas, por eso nuestros murales muestran a Frida que estuvo aquí muchas veces, ya fuera para beber un pulque o llevarse a casa a su Diego.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Es un lugar pequeño para comer y beber cerveza, las sillas son algo incómodas si pasas mucho tiempo sentado. La comida está buena y barata, en enero de 2018 el precio por el menú del día que es de 3 tiempos es de 95 pesos e incluye un tarro de cerveza, no hay muchos opciones de platillos para escoger pero las que hay están buenas. No tiene estacionamiento ni WiFi. El ambiente es agradable, generalmente tienen música pop/rock a buen volúmen.
 It is a small place to eat and drink beer, the chairs are somewhat uncomfortable if you spend a lot of time sitting. The food is good and cheap, in January 2018 the price for the menu of the day that is 3 times is 95 pesos and includes a beer mug, there are not many options to choose from but the ones that are there are good. It has no parking or WiFi. The atmosphere is nice, they generally have pop / rock music at a good volume.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ No sé qué pasó, llegamos 4 personas para pedir una mesa, no había nadie en la entrada por lo que pasamos, encontramos una mesa libre y nos sentamos, inmediatamente llegó una persona a decirnos que estaba reservada, y nos movimos de esa mesa y encontramos 2 mesas para 2 personas cada una, y le comentamos al, supongo era el mesero, que si podíamos ocupar esas mesas, y nos dijo que tampoco... No sé ustedes pero generalmente si no hay lugar, nos indican que esperemos afuera hasta que se desocupe la mesa, pero eso no sucedió :/, tal vez sólo es mi percepción pero se sintió que fue discriminación (el lugar estaba lleno de extranjeros)... Y lo peor, revisando, no hay ni teléfono para hacer reservación!

It’s the typical site where you can be victim of the classism from the owners and workers, that believe with the right of choosing who is welcome or not in their “pulqueria”, only because it’s located in Coyoacán zone. The prices are reasonable. It is only a good place to hang out with your partner or maybe a small group of friends, because in other case you won’t be well-treated (surely with outsiders is different because we are in Mexico). Sumpsing up, my experience there was terrible, therefore I recommend other sites like “El mezcalero” although the prices are higher but it’s still reasonable.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Best pulque ever!!! If you are in Mexico, is a must to go place. With pulque (40), beers (40-170), mezcal (45-120), "fuertes", wines and drinks, this place has everything that you need. Excellent food for a good price with a very friendly staff. Try their chapulines (cricket) and the Oaxaca cheese. Lots of vegetarians options. Excellent place to go with friends, family or your special one!
