★ ★ ★ ★ ★ El Fuerte is a pueblo mágico, a magic village, in Sinaloa, on the Chepe route. It is worth spending a few days here, before taking the Chepe (train) through the Copper Canyon. The town is quaint, with a beautiful square, restaurants, a market, a Malecon along the river Fuerte, a nice museum with a rooftop that offers a great view of the area. Also, not to be missed is a walk along the Malecon, crossing the bridge to reach the site of the petroglyphs. Admission is 20 pesos. Or, a place to just relax.
