A place full of magic good food and drinks ! Go on wednesdays best day to be there

This is one of the healthiest places to eat in San Pancho - perhaps the very healthiest! Just check out the menu: "We cook only with natural ingredients that we buy from Mexican farmers, taking preference for local producers. We don't use any canned products, either industrially or processed ones." Or their website: "We cook only with natural ingredients that we buy from Mexican fields, taking preference for local producers. Now our cuisine and bar have 90% no industrially processed products, and still working for get 100%." Their specialty is blue corn tortillas. It is special, too. Especially delicious, and especially notable. The menu, again: "NIxtamal is an Aztec word used to describe corn that has been partially cooked and soaked with calcium, hydroxide, or cal to make dough. We use this pre-Hispanic process to make our blue corn tortilla." According to my daughter-in-law, who knows these thing, El Gallo is run ethically, and supports the general welfare of community. But beyond these interesting details and helpful notes, there is other important evidence. Just look at the photos I've taken of their wonderful breakfast dishes! Now... aren't you hungry?

I went to the open mic which happens every Wednesday at 9pm. There were tons of people and it was a lot of fun! Great atmosphere and amazing drinks. Food is served late. Dog friendly :)

Had a variety of pulche today, absolutely wonderful people and atmosphere. I want to return sooner than later.

Great outdoor place to hang out and meet people. The music was excellent each night and the service prompt. The food was also delicious and beers average price. It was cash only I believe.

love El Gallo - super healthy quality food bursting with flavor. Must go in San Pancho. They have birria on sundays which became a tradition for us - once you have it you'll be devastated it's not available every day. they also have some great live music on the weekends! My only complaint is that they don't have a full dinner menu, but that's only because i enjoy their food so much and wanted to eat there often!

Pulquería Octli is an exciting new addition to El Gallo. In its own casual and cool room, it will become a regular place for me to either unwind or rejuvenate as needed. Pulque is the traditional drink of the gods from Aztec times. Fermented agave nectar yields a delicious, mind altering (?) and nutritious elixir. Read about it!

Great live band for a Friday night. Crowd didn't start coming until after 11:30pm. Guys feel free to take off their shirts and girls are dancing in flip flops or runners or bare feet. Super casual. A beer was 30 pesos. They also serve food but I didn't try any.
