During the SCUBA Skills Refresher, El Mar Diving Centers Professional Staff will have you complete a skill review, including 21 fundamental skills, giving you a refresher on the skills that you first learned in your Open Water training, helping you get comfortable once again and help you with any issues you may have.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Awesome shop and staff! We dove on the boat one day with them, and they were super helpful and informative. We went out to an island with a bunch of sea lions and swam around, which was a little different cuz I'm used to following a guide underwater. It was a great dive and the sea lions were awesome. They would swim around you and kinda play with you.
Another day we didn't want to go where they were going on the boat, so they gave us tanks and directions to a couple good places where we did our own shore dives.

However, I couldn't have had a more positive experience and can't wait to get in the water again. The staff at the dive shop could not have been more friendly or professional and wanted to create a positive dive experience for me. Also, Jose, the dive instructor on the boat was extremely supportive in and out the water. In fact, everyone on the boat was great!
I sincerely thank everyone at El Mar!

Plus, because they have a shop in Mesa, they are super easy to arrange trips from the USA. Also. compared to Gary’s, their prices at least for tanks are half the price. We’ll definitely use them for our next trip.

I can't say the same out the other bigger shop in town - I'll never go back there. El Mar is the dive shop for me - good people are worth supporting.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I decided to get scuba training for the first time kind of on a whim and I’m so glad I did. Jose was knowledgeable, flexible and patient with me as he guided me through my training. His English is fluent and there were no issues at all in communicating the more technical aspects of diving (I had heard this could be an issue elsewhere). He also has awesome restaurant/food recommendations as an added bonus. Couldn’t recommend El Mar more highly.
