Absolutely superb brew. Espresso on point. Bring your own cup only and get free refills at only 20 pesos! Delicious pastries as well. Lovely spot and friendly service; totally not a tourist trap. Must visit!

We were staying in San Pancho, but my son and daughter-in-law insisted we drive a few minutes down the highway to Sayulita. They wanted us to visit one of their favorite breakfast places in this part of Mexico - El Original Cafe Sayulita. They were right, and we enjoyed a delightful breakfast. Our waiter was very attentive, friendly, and helpful. The dishes were varied and appealing. We all wanted to taste what others had ordered! We sat at one of the patio tables outside the colorful pink and green building, surrounded by dreamcatchers and God's Eyes and other colorful hangings. It was a unique and attractive setting. The ancient variety of blue corn - soooo delicious! - used in this restaurant is grown indigenous Huichol people who live in the rugged Sierra Madre Occidental Mountains of Nayarit and Jalisco. The menu tells us that each meal helps the non-profit foundation, the Huichol Center for Cultural Survival and the Traditional Arts. Apparently, this restaurant, and its sister-business, the art gallery next door, are trying to help this endangered culture. A website of Sayulita's restaurants presents this view: "Famous for their Chile con Carne, El Original Sayulita Cafe also offers the Sayulita local favorite - sopes. The casual atmosphere and colorful design is very welcoming and El Original Sayulita Cafe is the perfect place for families and groups of friends. Located on the corner of Calles Revolucion & Manuel Rodriguez Sanchez, right by the bridge, makes it really easy to find, close to the beach and to Sayulita center." Well, we didn't come for the beach or the city center - we came for this restaurant and their food. We were not disappointed!

Finally! ¡Por fin! After days searching for a delicious Mexican breakfast in Sayulita, we scored at this gem of a place. The salsa for chilaquiles and huevos rancheros is the best I’ve found so far. Great service. Fresh ingredients. If they would accept card payments, it would be the perfect place. La mejor salsa de chilaquiles en Sayulita. Que frescura de tomates en la salsa.

The best breakfast in Sayulita! Blue corn pancakes are the best.

Great place for breakfast, also for vegetarians and vegans! Had the omelet with zucchini and it was delicious, also the portions are really big and it's reasonably priced (90pesos for the huge omelet with bread and salsa). Only thing I felt was very odd is, that they charge you 20 pesos if you want to plug something in - never heard of that before and it's the reason I'm not coming back.

5 stars for offering a dedicated vegan menu with flavorful options that don’t feel like a lazy substitute like other restaurants tend to offer. They were friendly, timely and the chilaquiles were super yummy with freshly made chips from the blue corn tortillas. The burrito was decent but fell apart and the blue corn tortilla was a bit dense when made into this big size. But the filling was really good and their whipped beans are heavenly
