â â â â â The service was very chaotic at 1pm. It took me a while to be seated, I had to wave down a couple of people to put my order in. The order of Guacamole and a juice took 15 minutes to arrive. I asked 3 waiters for my bill and I almost left without paying (which I've never done before in my life).
It was popular! I'm sure the food is worth the wait, just don't expect to get in and out quickly.

â â â â â Pretty good! Value for price is decent, flavour is pretty good in the ceviche, octopus is cooked tenderly. We were disappointed by the seabass which seems like frozen flavorless cuts. I was expecting fresh grilled seabass. Service was real good though, the people had good energy. Overall, worth it for one night but perhaps not more.

â â â â â EXCELLENT! We loved this shabby, hole-in-the-wall fish place! The server brought out whole fish and lobsters to our table for us the choose, weigh, and price. We got the whole grouper and lobster tail. The food didn't take long considering they had to clean the fish. The grouper was amazing as was the lobster. It was not hard or messy to eat the way they served it. The sides were just right -veggies, rice, black beans. This place is not to be missed! Our whole meal was under $60 USD. Well worth it!

Beware⊠the portions are huge !!!
Food is tasty and always fresh.
Priced have significantly gone up since my first visit, but I still frequent this restaurant. Itâs worth it to me, because I always leave with leftovers.

It's so fresh you can select your fish before they go and prepare it for you.
My recommendation, ask for a Shrimp and Octopus cocktail to start, and a really nice fish for the main course ?

â â â â â Food was very good and fresh with decent prices especially considering its just a few feet off of 5th. Also, seemed to be a favorite of locals vs tourists! Only problem is the innatentive service...for example, one waiter actually asked us (not the other way around) if we wanted ketchup for our fries so we said yes and waited to eat start digging into them. He never returned so before they got too cold we asked a different waiter for ketchup and he never returned either. Also, had to wait too long for anyone to notice we were finished and wanted the check.

â â â â â It's a shame: I would have given this place a 4-star review, as the food was delicious and they seemed very accommodating, but the waiter became really rude in the end when we wanted to pay by card just to find out that they did not take any form of card payment, so we struggled to get together the total amount of our bill + 10% tip. I guess he was expecting a larger tip or wanted to be paid in dollars instead. He just took the money, looked at us and walked away without saying a word. No "goodbye", no "thank you". We'd have loved to leave a larger tip in cash if we had been able to pay our bill by card, but we did not carry several thousand pesos in cash as every other restaurant in Playa del Carmen accepts cards.
