★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Very slow service with items arriving sporadically. It's in a great location. I've been here a few times hoping it would improve, but it's always mediocre. Because of the slow service the food arrives barely warm. It's also not cheap. Two entrees and drinks were $400. There are much better options around.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Excellent place to enjoy Mexican food with an authentic flare. Portions are large and flavourful. We had the chilaquiles and quesadillas, which were handmade to order, very crispy and with rich filling. We recommend because they were not overwhelming with "thick corn Masa" rather they were thin, and not greasy at all.
We haven't been to El Portón for many years, but we were pleased with our experience today.
Excellent food, very clean and welcoming place with committed service.
