Here in Mexico, you have to get your gas emission test twice a year. This was my first time to take my car. When I arrived, there were already 7 cars waiting in line. What gasoline cars had to do was to go to dynamo and turn the wheel while emission analysis is taking place. Once car passes the emission test, then go pay at cashier inside of store. This was different for diesel car that I had. There is no dynamo, just checking for emission from the tail pipe. Since it was a separate line for diesel cars, I did not have to wait. The clerks were nice enough to ask if my car was diesel so that I did not have to wait in line. I did not have the registration card with me at the time but you can show your insurance policy and that was good enough for my emission test. A person inputs data into computer while other person is setting up the equipment. The test itself took around 10-15 minutes from start to finish. A clerk will place a sticker on your window and off you go. It was really simple and did not have to go to dealer to pay for higher fee. Recommend this place and I could not speak a word of Spanish, everything done through Google translate.
