El Santo Taco - 48380 Puerto Vallarta

Unfortunately, we had an extremely negative experience here. Granted we were a party of 10, so probably a bit more difficult to get everything right than the average table, but still… Half the drinks took 30 minutes to get, and a couple we did get were not right. When we told our server this he tried to push it back on us saying it was what he put in the order so it must be right! Some drinks never came. The food came out sporadically and the kids burgers didn’t arrive until all adults were done eating. The burgers tasted like they were bathed in soy sauce, literally. Once our food was all served the waiter never again checked in us. Not even to give us our bill. He pawned that job off to a bus person. We waited for 15 minutes for someone, anyone to charge our cards and finally decided to go to the service stand ourselves and ask a fairly shocked bookkeeper to help us. When another server (may have been the manager or chef?) asked how everything was and we said not good at all, there was no further questions about details or what could be done to make it right. That was the final straw and why I’m writing this review. I’ve worked in restaurants for almost 15 yrs. I know how things work and get that sometimes there is just a vortex of bad luck that collectively can make a guest’s experience not great. But a good restaurant knows that when that happens they do something, anything to try to make it right. They did none of that and it really is too bad. It seemed like a cool place and we were excited by the previous reviews. I’m hopeful they can learn from this one.

From the outside it looks like a small establishment but it has a bigger inner Courtyard to eat. Now my partner loves pico de gallo.... Like loves it so the chef whipped her up some with her specifications. Food was good and relatively cheap. More of a bar than restaurant but service was Bueno

This place is an amazing hidden gem. Up the streets from all the loud music crazy crowds and lots of tourists, is this place that's brought street tacos to another level. Could be a romantic kinda place as well. Nicely decorative place and services. Awesome tasty food well done. Good texture and taste. The price is cheap. I'm definitely coming back for more tacos and drinks.

It is one of the best restaurants to eat tacos in Puerto Vallarta, the service is good, the waiters are very attentive and always ask if you need something, the meat of the tacos has a lot of flavor, I recommend the wire and the tacos de pastor

Can’t go wrong with food in PV and yes it’s Mexico. For me, the flavours here at El Santo Taco are on a different level and that’s the beauty of trying as many restaurants as possible as this kitchen definitely has its own thing going on. The open atmosphere is beautiful, open courtyard has plants around the edge. The owner and staff want you to be happy. Very welcoming and priced just fine. Fresh, perfectly marinated food. The owner even brought us some perfect fries for our 2 year old girl that wasn’t on the menu. I don’t want to abuse the the Hidden Gem word, but it really is. blessed be, stay curious

I wish I could give this place 5 stars or even 3. I hate giving bad reviews. Im sure they are trying, because no restaurant wants negative comments, but this was not good. There were 11 of us, so in their defense, we were a lot. They only have a small pizza oven and everyone wanted pizza. We were not prepared for their inability to serves us in a timely manner. We arrived at 7:40pm and all meals were finally delivered just after 9. 2 pizzas were badly burnt. I ordered Tacos Pastor and was disappointed. They just didnt have the flavor that I've found in other establishments around Puerto Vallarta. I hope we just hit on a bad night. The staff was friendly and I honestly believe they were doing the best they could. The prices were decent, but they were definitely off, as a team.

Sooooo good! Tacos were delicious, salsa’s were very flavorful, and the chips were deep fried and so crispy. I got the salad and the dressing it comes tossed in is so good, very lemon-y. Everything is reasonably priced and the eating space is part inside part outside with a very cool large mural. Loved the whole experience!

Flagged from the street, they invited me in. I’d been here before for tacos but this time I was looking for something light, a salad. They had a house salad but without hesitation the host asked the chef if they could make me something a little more special. The chef provided three options not even on the menu. I had a chicken Cesar salad with lots of extras. T was delicious, arrive quickly along with a spicy margarita that was delicious. Can’t go wrong with this place. The service was impeccable.
