Visiting from Canada; after an exhausting day of exploring on foot, I stumbled upon this little gem on a side street. Other patrons were more mature, looked like they worked nearby. The service was excellent, the tapas were amazing with a very generous pour of mezcal and topped it off with a yummy dessert. Thoroughly enjoyed it all! Great atmosphere and value for your money. Go!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Food = great. Waiter tells patrons when they arrive that the restaurant is closing soon, when it isn’t. We arrived a little after 7, he told us the restaurant closed at 8 so we hurried as quickly as possible. While we were eating, we heard him tell 3 additional tables upon arrival that the restaurant closed at 9, so they did the same thing. Sign on door said restaurant closed at 10pm. This was such an off-putting experience once we realized what was going on—and we would have ordered so much more food if we weren’t pushed out! I especially felt bad for the table next to us with children that thought they only had 30 min to order and leave. I passive aggressively asked the server if they closed at 8 or 9 and he laughed. While the food here is great, if you want a real tapas experience, you want to sit for a bit and enjoy— not be warned that the restaurant is fake closing in an hour, etc. Be warned. Gross.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Stumbled upon this place randomly, and blown away by the quality of the food! I don't normally leave reviews, but felt compelled to after eating here. The Pulpo a la Gallega was the first time having Pulpo that tasted as fresh and well cooked as when I lived in the Canary Islands! The lettuce in the Ensalada de Cogollo was crispy and tasted as if it was picked earlier in the day. I'm only upset that I found this place my last day in the city! I came very early in the night, but it is a small place and many places were reserved already, so I would recommend making a reservation to guarantee a spot.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Often when it comes to good food, it is not about how fancy the place is. A great example is El Tapeo in Zona Rosa in CDMX. As the name indicates, it is a tapas place and some other Spanish specialities. If you are into tapas, look no further, this is one of the best places I have been. Don Enrique, a Castilian from Madrid, makes sure that every tapa is right. It is a non assuming location with excellent food and service.
