Mixed feelings. The canyon is amazing. I went on a 2.5h your with Lanchas Rojas. The price is not bad (200 pesos). But the boat are not protected from sun (it was 34C), the boat is big (=crowded) and the driver makes some uninteresting stops.

Beautiful area, only downside is walking on the Mexican beach stones. Lots of vendors and food

Awesome veiws of the canyon, the 3 hour tour felt a little long at the end, compared to all of the other waterways we visited this one was very dirty

Beautiful but I had a drunk Mexican guy accosting me the entire time which kind of ruined all the beauty. Better you look for something smaller where there won’t be a pendejo on you the entire time

It's a very hot place to visit. There you can get in the boots. There are many places where food is sold. If you want to have a general vision of the river, you can do it, but the space is very tiny. Near this places there is a little public bathroom, the cost is $5 Mexican pesos.

A great place to start a great river trip up the canyon. Plenty of little restaurants to grab a river view bite before your boat leaves. And plenty of tourist stalls in a pleasant colonial style town

Beautiful canyon that exceeded my expectations. The "christmas tree waterfall" is worth enough for the trip on its own. The wildlife is impressive. It's 270 pesos which includes the entrance to the national park. There is another pier just to the west of here where you might find a better deal. In low season do not try to come early to beat the crowds. We arrived at 8.30am on a weekday and had to wait over two hours for the first boat of the day to fill up. Just show up at 10am. I recommend this location over Cahuare, as all the boats coming from Cahuare were huge, while at this location it's about 18 people max per boat. Even in dry season there's tons of garbage in the river, all plastic, mostly Pozol cups. I'm not sure what the 50 pesos for the national park is gong towards, but definitely not for removing trash. At the halfway point at the hydro dam there's a boat selling snacks, and everything is in plastic wrappers. It's sad they're is no understanding of the connection between disposable plastic use and the pollution of the river. It's ridiculous that the government takes so much money, yet is not interesting in protecting natural areas.
