Thanks Grater, the photos are saving me a trip to check the progress. I also got an apartment here. They promised 2022 but that seems more like 2023 or later

Replay to Greater Homecare "Cenotes" are NATURAL underground caves filled with water. Your pictures show a simple excavation for a pool or a foundation with rainwater, probably caused by hurricane Grace. Did you ask for the soil mechanics study? Let's not generate fakes news

Anyone have any additional information on this property? We are thinking about buying a unit, but we are hesitate. They are saying completion date will be Dec. 2023. Waiting 2 yrs. seems hard.

I would think twice before buying a property at this development. I signed a contract to purchase a condo in this future development, and I was notified that the Unit would be delivered in 2022. I visited the construction site and noticed that there was no construction workers at the site and noticed a large amount of water on the lot. I went to their offices and was notified that the developer had discovered a "Cenote" on the site, which is an underground body of water. These are common in this area. When I requested to terminate my purchase contract due to the huge amounts of water on the lot, the developer denied that there is a 'cenote' on site. I have taken multiple pictures showing that there is a cenote, and the lot is not safe to build on. The developer continues to deny the existence of the Cenote, even though evidence of the cenote was submitted to them. The lot may not be safe to build on (unless they stop denying and resolve the issue). I have attached the pictures of what I saw today (August 14, 2021) Update: There is still a huge amount of water on the construction site (amount of water unchanged over a month later). Update: October 29, 2021 - I visited the construction site and I saw 3 construction workers operating a heavy duty water pump, working to empty the water from the cenote. The water level has dropped by about 60cm since they started pumping it out. No builders were on site, and besides the staff pumping out the cenote, there has been no progress on the construction since my last visit. Update: November 21, 2021 - There has been no progress on the construction. It has been raining for the past 3 days and the 'cenote' water level has increased to it's previous level. There has been no progress at all on the construction or efforts to resolve the water issue. The water level is the same as it was in August 2021. Update: April 2022 - The developer sent me an email stating they have a new investor and now have the funding to continue the development, and shall use high-end and pre-fabricated materials to build the development in a timely manner. This is the first communication I have received since I requested a response in June 2021. It took almost a year for the developer to communicate with their clients. I hope their building skills exceed their communication skills.

This property is being built in an area which was previously covered in Mangroves and was supposed to be protected wetlands. Since it is in a wetland area it will likely be subjected to high water tables and rising water all the time. The property was purchased by a developer a couple of years ago and they started construction but now it appears that all work has stopped for several months now. I can’t imagine why anyone would purchase an apartment in this building under these circumstances.
