? Muchas gracias Erika und Luca ?
Wonderful break at the Encantaluna We were able to enjoy three relaxing nights in Erika and Luca's accommodation. The communication has always worked very well and when we arrived we were greeted warmly by both of them and received great tips for our time on Holbox. The room is beautifully furnished, a lot was designed and built by ourselves and nothing is missing. The accommodation is extremely clean. If we had any questions, we got an answer in a very short time. We heartily recommend the Encantaluna! ? Muchas gracias Erika and Luca ?

Economy room = no air conditioning, wifi and hot water? There was no air conditioning in our room. What immediately challenged us when we entered, given the furnace we felt. In addition, the room retained heat despite the ventilation and ventilation in the ceiling. For 2 nights, it was difficult for us to see almost impossible to sleep. We asked to change rooms but were refused (there didn't seem to be anyone in the free rooms with AC though) The solution found was to offer us a very noisy fan which therefore ventilated hot air and made a maximum of noise, therefore just as disturbing for sleeping. We did not find the host accommodating; she even seemed impassive about our difficulty sleeping, which was a shame when you saw all the good comments that praised her "welcoming" aspect. Wifi almost non-existent, we are not talking about a poor quality connection, we are talking about difficulty in capturing the wifi network because the room seems too far from the source terminal, the only place where we could pick up a little? The shower. Guest house away from the noise of course, but we had to go through muddy paths where we were attacked by mosquitoes when we arrived. The advantage is that as we sweated all night in this room which retains heat, we had the honor of taking cold showers in the morning (there was no hot water anyway …). We had turned to this guest house because of the notes on booking, which are far from deserved. We wanted to change accommodation following this fiasco but unfortunately all the hotels in Holbox were full. I know that she will read this comment, and besides, this time she will have a good reason to answer it in the face of the salty note that we attribute to our stay. I expect her to reply that no air conditioning was stated, but no it wasn't clearly specified, in which case we wouldn't have booked here. Moreover, does this mean that the rooms of 4 are more legitimate to have air conditioning than two people? No, I do not think so. Everyone must be treated the same or at least have the minimum required. A room without air conditioning in Mexico just seems lunar to me, just like the behavior of our host. If you take the "economy" room, expect equally economical or non-existent host service. In summary: go your way if you have the choice.

When I arrived to the island, I contacted Airbnb and the host and notified them that the area around the Airbnb flooded and there was no access. Taxis could not proceed. The water level was knee high. There were literally dozens of us stranded at the pier. I had been waiting for a taxi for two hours before contacting Airbnb again. I was stranded and tried to gain access for 5 hours straight. Accessing the neighborhood was very unsafe and unsanitary. The host was dishonest by telling Airbnb that she notified me a few days before to propose help with taxi contacts. Her text (which I still have) said that given the previous days of rain, the streets are full of water and she hoped that the sun would return soon as the beach and the sea are beautiful. There was no mention that "water in the street” meant that no travelers would be able to access that entire region of the island. I definitely would not have taken a 6 hour bus ride and a ferry if I was informed about possible lack or access. Despite the host being able to pocket a lot of money without providing a service, she was a bit emotional and defensive, in addition to being dishonest for no apparent reason. The situation was pretty black and white…there was no possible access to property. The pictures look amazing and I am sure the property is great in person, but if the taxis refuse to drive through the water and you don’t want to put yourself in a dirty and dangerous walking situation, your payment becomes a donation to the host and you will have to book lodging in another area or leave the island so that you are not stranded through the night. I am a nomad who lives in Airbnbs throughout the world. I have never experienced this situation before and hope this does not happen to anyone else.

The couple who own this hotel were great. They provided great recommendations and were always available for questions. The rooms themselves are comfortable, clean and look new. Small refrigerator was a plus. Marvin is a nice small dog.
