I've rented many cars but never has the process been so seamless and even enjoyable! What an amazing experience. Mauricio was fantastic. He was friendly and helpful and made the whole process a pleasant experience. He even upgraded our car to a brand new Volkswagen Toureg. The rest of the staff were equally as helpful and accommodating. I will definitely come back next time I am in Cancun and need to rent a car!

RENTERS BEWARE: I want to start off by saying there was nothing wrong with my rental car itself. However please be aware that when you rent in Mexico you are required to purchase the add on of third party coverage which happens to be the cheapest form of coverage out of the three options. When I arrived at the desk to get my car I was told since I only chose the third party coverage that they would require a deposit of $1,250. When I expressed that this was way too much they told me that if I purchased the other two insurance options I would only have to pay a $200 dollar deposit. I again expressed that I was very upset about this surprise cost, they agreed to “waive” one of the costs of the insurance only making me pay for one, this brought my reservation cost up from $500 to $700+ dollars as well as the $200 deposit. I am not sure if this is something do you everyone or if this was a scam due to being a young female. But just beware, I could also here them speaking to a different young lady telling her they would need a $2000 deposit from her.

Ancient car that couldn’t drive in a straight line. On returning the car they go over it with a fine tooth comb. Be very careful to take videos and photos of everything especially the tyres and underside. Enterprise in the UK is a trusted mainstream brand. Not so here. I’ve never rented a car with so many miles on the clock. Never again.

Do not rent your car from Enterprise.They do not know how to treat their customers. All they do is to sell you insurance. Although there was no sign in the car saying that smoking cigarettes was not allowed, they charged us for smoking. We said that nobody told us anything about that, but they insisted that it was a “common sense”. Then they accused us of removing the warning sticker from the car. This is unbelievable! Manager Daniel gave us really hard times. We were okay to pay for insurance which was double amount of the car, but charging us for smoking cigarettes without giving us ANY FORM OF WARNING was not fair. At the end of the day, we were also okay for paying for the smoking charge. However, ACCUSING US OF REMOVING THE WARNING STICKER is not acceptable.

UPDATE February 13, 2022: After getting the response from Enterprise Cancun below, we contacted them and gave them the requested information and have not heard back. Seems like they just respond to every unhappy customer with the same thing and don't actually mean to follow through on resolving the issue. Again, horrendous customer service, do not use them. Yes, they are cheaper than Hertz at face value, but be prepared to lose a lot of time and all of your patience when dealing with them..at the end of which you will have to go get a car from Hertz anyway so do yourself a favor and skip Enterprise. ORIGINAL REVIEW: We reserved a car from December 28 until January 12 and got a call confirming the flight a few days beforehand. We confirmed that we were arriving over the phone and did not receive any further notice about issues about the reservation. Upon arriving at the airport in the evening of December 28, the enterprise station was closed and there was a sign to proceed to the national car desk to get processed. We were told there were no cars available and that maybe a car would be available two days later. This totally sucked on its own given that we were planning on driving out of Cancun early tomorrow morning. We asked for them to at least pay for our taxi to get to our hotel and was told no that's not possible either. This was the absolute worst customer service I've ever received when renting a car. For reference, we were " helped" by Maria de la Cruz. When asked for her manager she called someone named Sebastian who may or may not have been her manager. I'll be contacting enterprise directly about this but have very little hope of any service given the terrible treatment we've received so far. Went to Hertz instead and we were done in fifteen minutes. What a disastrous start to our vacation. If this is not remedied I will not be using enterprise ever again and tell basically everyone I know and every review site how terrible they treat their customers.

Do not rent here! They will try to take as much money as they can from you. Also, do not even try to reserve through Expedia. They will not honor any prices you booked unless you pay for there insurance at their office or pay the $2500 dollar deposit. If you don’t get their insurance at their office you will have to put down a $2500 security deposit. Outrageous! Then they will inspect every inch of the car inside/out like they are looking for drugs just so they can spot any sign of scratch so they can charge you. It’s been 3 months since I rented a vehicle from them and I’m still waiting on my $200 deposit. They keep coming up with excuses that they already returned my funds which is a lie. I’ve been going back and forward with them and still no money. I called my bank to dispute it and now it’s under investigation.

Good service!! Renting cars is all about trust (both client and rental company). We are family from the Netherlands who just came back from Mexico. All was fine during the rental period. The reception is very fast. Already before their office you are greeted by one of the employees for first check in. No long check-in lines before a single booth ??? The employees are extremely helpful. Before going on route they make a careful check on the car (together with you) to check on possible damage. All with the utmost sincerity.??? Also handing in the car was super quick. If you think that their service was top notch they have a special bell at the reception you can tinkle . I tinkled the bell and got full applause of the employees ha ha. This is of course just a small gimmick but it shows that they have customer service as one their values. Their mini bus will drop you off on each of the terminals in no time.??? Great service Enterprise!! Next time I come back again.

I was very worried about renting from them after reading the reviews. So worried that I called their help desk twice from Europe just to confirm they will have our car ready. Made another reservation with a different company just in case. But I must say I was extremely satisfied with the service. Completely new car, standard SUV size, price as advertised no hassle when returning. No waiting at pick up or return. I think the difference is if you make a reservation directly through them and what kind of insurance you take. Not to say they should not provide a great service if you don`t take the full insurance, which we did. In my experience, if you want a great service and are willing to pay for it you can get it here.
