★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is only the entrance and the place to keep your dog while you visit the site. They will watch it for $50p. You can't bring it past this point. There is shade, restrooms, taxis, and other employees so it's definitely a safe place to leave your pet. Also, if you ask, a guard or guide can take your pet to their house and watch it there if you prefer. We parked our car in the shade and left our pet in the car, and took a taxi into the site because we have a large camper van. ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Just a place to pay fees to entry the road to Calakmul Archaeological Site. Fees here are twice as much the cost of the entrance to the real ruins, aka the local community to off.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ calcukmul ruins unfortunately when we bought tickets bathroom was out of order and it was another hour drive threw reserve they did have local honey for sale and snacks saw lots of beautiful turkeys, fox and bird of pray, coati, jaguar and ruins are amazing your aloud to climb certain ones. You do have to pay to take pictures once you get to ruin area. Hour drive after you get tickets must drive slow road not to bumpy but lots of wildlife and parts are narrow you come out on same road. But so worth spending most of day there.
