★ ★ ★ ★ ★ En Tecomán, se tiene como patrona del lugar a la Virgen de La Candelaria. Desde 1876 existe la tradición de sacar a la imagen en andas, que 80 o más personas cargan en hombros, por turnos, para recorrer las avenidas aledañas al Santuario Mariano Diocesano así declarado oficialmente al Templo de Santiago por el nuncio apostólico de la Santa Sede D. Jerónimo Prigione en su visita el 2 de febrero de 1989, misma fecha que coronó la Sagrada imagen en representación de su santidad Juan Pablo II.
In Tecomán, the Virgin of La Candelaria is the patron of the place. Since 1876 there is a tradition of taking the image in steps, which 80 or more people carry on their shoulders, in turns, to travel the surrounding avenues to the Diocesan Marian Shrine so officially declared to the Temple of Santiago by the apostolic nuncio of the Holy See D Jerónimo Prigione during his visit on February 2, 1989, the same date that crowned the Sacred Image in representation of his holiness John Paul II.
