Not only is Escuela Mexicana in a beautiful location in the heart of Guanajuato Centro, the building itself is an aspiring setting to spend time engaging in Spanish classes. I truly cannot believe how much I was able to learn in my time here. Every single teacher I had was miraculous, patient, funny, and of course kind. It amazes me how much I was able to learn in my time here. I highly recommend this school for anyone looking to greatly improve their Spanish language skills. Everyone here is professional and greatly skilled in teaching Spanish. I cannot wait to return in the future!

I had such an incredible experience with la Escuela Mexicana. I was seeking classes that would be engaging, challenging and that would move me forward with my Spanish speaking abilities. I received so much more! Not only did I get incredible teaching but was introduced to new music, culture and engaged through stories and interesting conversations. I spent two weeks attending this Spanish school. I did not know any Spanish when I started. After 40 hours of instruction, I understand basic conversations and can read at or above the basic level. I loved staying with a host family and learning about the culture of this beautiful community. I look forward to going back and learning even more español. Gracias.

I wish everyone who wants to learn Spanish finds this school. I stumbled upon one of the classes via Duolingo initially, and I have no intention of quitting. All the teachers are great, but my teacher, Juan Carlos is arguably the best one I met last 2 years of learning Spanish. (Took classes at different groups/school) He is ever so patient with us and the way he explains things (including pronunciation) is much easier to understand. My classmates and I will meet up in Guanajuato one day!

I’ve been taking classes with Juan Carlos since January of 2021, and I’ve learned more Spanish in this time than the previous three years of studying on my own. He is knowledgeable, kind, funny and patient, and he has created an environment of learning where it’s ok to make mistakes and grow. Through the process, I’ve also made friends whom I adore with people from many different places. My experience with Escuela Mexicana and Juan Carlos has been life-changing. I’m so thankful I found it, and I plan on taking classes with Juan Carlos as long as I’m able.

Great place to learn Spanish, Mexican culture and make friends! I came here with 0 Spanish and now ,after 2.5 months, I have more than enough Spanish to travel freely and speak with locals without any issue. We had like 4-5 different teachers and all were very friendly and good teachers! The city might seem little small but offers quite a lot. The food is great(not just Mexican but there are great international restaurants as well). The best part is that the school offers 2 activities every week, usually one of them is cooking class which we learned and enjoyed a lot! They just make sure you have something to do every week!

The Escuela Mexicana was an incredible experience for me! Everything went so smoothly! From airport pick up/drop off, to living with the most amazing family, to learning more Spanish language skills, I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. The classes are structured such that you have the opportunity to learn grammar as well time to build fluency in the conversation classes. The teachers are incredibly kind and patient with their students. When you’re not in class, there are also other activities to do. The school provides weekly tours to local attractions and extra curricular activities such as cooking classes. The cooking class was my personal favorite! Finally, being a foreigner and not speaking the language well can be intimidating but I felt incredibly safe and cared during my entire time. My host family was wonderful in addition to the sweet teachers and staff at the school!

Escuela Mexican is a wonderful place to learn Spanish in a true immersion environment. I have studied at several different language immersion schools over the years and have found Escuela Mexicana to be the best overall. The teachers are very knowledgeable about Spanish Language and Mexican culture, experienced educators and patient with us students. The school could not be in a better location. It is very close to the town center and easy to walk to, right in the middle of Guanajuato, one of the most beautiful places in the world. The host families that the school connects the students with are all wonderful, too. I love the extra activities the school offers, everything from cooking and dance classes to hikes and museum trips, they are all fun and complete the overall experience. I felt very safe during my time in Guanajuato and definitely improved my Spanish language skills.
