★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Era el año de 1953, que por inquietud de padres de familia, y sociedad en general se conjuntaban propósitos, crear la escuela secundaria, anhelo que vería luz; el Gobierno del Estado auspiciaría la misma, incorporándose al Instituto de Ciencias de Zacatecas. Se inauguró el 16 de febrero de 1953, siendo Presidente Municipal el C. Eloy Molina Juárez. Su primer Director fue el Dr. Santiago Fierro y Fierro, sería instalada en la Escuela Primaria Ramón López Velarde. Esta institución solo duro en funciones siete meses.
En 1957, se logra la reapertura de la escuela poniéndola al servicio de la región de Rio Grande y municipios circunvecinos; quedando como Director el Profesor Mahomedalid Hernández Leal. El 20 de mayo de ese mismo año, se inaugura el edificio escolar de la calle Alfonso Medina No. 19 Barrio del Cuero por el Lic. Adolfo Ruiz Cortines, Presidente de la República Mexicana, mismo que durante dos años albergaría al alumnado posteriormente se mudaría al edificio que ocupara la Escuela Primaria “Justo Sierra“ de las calles Allende y Juárez. Esta institución se vio fortalecida por personas honestas y responsables, filantrópicas diría yo; Mahomedalid Hernández Leal, Benjamín Morquecho Guerrero, Pompeyo Dávila Reyes, Elviro Muro Hernández, Salvador Gómez Molina, Abel Cruz Medina, Amado Castañeda, Antonio Maldonado, Serafín Chi Uc, Gabriel Castañeda y tantos maestros ilustres que se me escapan de la memoria; hasta llegar a su último Director el Profr. Rufino Damián Mendoza. Y Así como consigna la historia de haber caído imperios, también cayó la Escuela “Agustín López de Nava”, faro de luz y pionera del progreso de nuestro pueblo.
It was the year of 1953, that due to the concern of parents, and society in general, purposes were combined, to create the secondary school, yearning that would see light; the State Government would sponsor it, joining the Zacatecas Science Institute. It was inaugurated on February 16, 1953, with C. Eloy Molina Juárez as Municipal President. Its first Director was Dr. Santiago Fierro y Fierro, it would be installed at Ramón López Velarde Elementary School. This institution only lasted seven months.
In 1957, the reopening of the school is achieved by putting it at the service of the Rio Grande region and surrounding municipalities; with Professor Mahomedalid Hernández Leal as Director. On May 20 of that same year, the Alfonso Medina No. 19 Barrio del Cuero street school building was inaugurated by Mr. Adolfo Ruiz Cortines, President of the Mexican Republic, which for two years would house the students later move to the building occupied by the “Justo Sierra” Elementary School on Allende and Juárez streets. This institution was strengthened by honest and responsible people, philanthropic I would say; Mahomedalid Hernández Leal, Benjamín Morquecho Guerrero, Pompeyo Dávila Reyes, Elviro Muro Hernández, Salvador Gómez Molina, Abel Cruz Medina, Amado Castañeda, Antonio Maldonado, Serafín Chi Uc, Gabriel Castañeda and so many illustrious teachers who escape my memory; until reaching its last Director, Profr. Rufino Damián Mendoza. And just as the history of having fallen empires, the “Agustín López de Nava” School, beacon of light and pioneer of the progress of our people, also fell.
