★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Jorge Matute Remus (Guadalajara, Jalisco, México; 17 de febrero de 1912 - Ibídem; 6 de julio de 2002), fue un ingeniero civil, político y catedrático mexicano, reconocido entre otras cosas, por el traslado del edificio de Teléfonos de México en 1950 para ampliar la Avenida Juárez en Guadalajara y por el impulso que le dio a la Universidad de Guadalajara durante su periodo como rector de ésta.
Trabajó posteriormente para la compañía de petróleos El Águila. A partir de la expropiación petrolera en 1936, dicha compañía le ofreció un empleo en Venezuela, el cual rechazó para regresar a Guadalajara en donde comenzó a ser catedrático en la Universidad de Guadalajara, labor que nunca dejó de realizar y por la cual sería ampliamente reconocido.

Jorge Matute Remus (Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico; February 17, 1912 - Ibídem; July 6, 2002), was a Mexican civil engineer, politician and professor, recognized among other things, for the transfer of the Telefonos de México building in 1950 to expand the Avenida Juárez in Guadalajara and for the impulse that he gave to the University of Guadalajara during his period as its rector.
He later worked for the El Águila oil company. As of the oil expropriation in 1936, said company offered him a job in Venezuela, which he refused to return to Guadalajara where he began to be a professor at the University of Guadalajara, work that he never stopped doing and for which he would be widely recognized. .
