If you are looking to take a Spanish course in Oaxaca (or anywhere in Mexico) go to this school! I highly recommend this school with Señora Luz. She is a phenomenal teacher. I am so glad that I had the opportunity to spend 5 weeks learning from her and the other incredible teachers at Español Interactivo. Karina, Erika, and Magda are wonderful teachers. First, the class sizes are small and intimate. Your opportunity for individual instruction here is unlike any other. The entire class is in Spanish, todo el tiempo! The style of learning is conversational and Señora Luz along with the other teachers will encourage you to speak Spanish the entire time! They are extremely patient and willing to work on specific examples, topics of conversation, and anything you like as long as it is in Spanish. I found this style of learning to be very beneficial in my pursuit to learn Spanish. We covered much more than just the foundations of Spanish. Daily we begin with conversations about the previous day, we review, and then always work on something new. The class was always exciting to me and the teachers have creative ways to help you learn. We played card games, debated different topics, and shared festive meals during special occasions! Since the class and my return home I have been speaking Spanish daily. My experience taught me so much more than Spanish. I am grateful to have spent time in Oaxaca studying at Español Interactivo, tengo muchisimas ganas en Español desde mi experiencia!! I just spent two weeks at this school for four hours a day in February 2020. The teachers were absolutely fantastic! I've been at the intermediate level for a number of years, being able to read and understand Spanish, but not feeling too comfortable speaking it. The teachers, their ability to pair you with others with similar abilities, and the 100% immersion got me to the point where I feel so much more comfortable speaking! I recently spent 5 weeks at this language school and would highly recommend the experience. I came in with intermediate Spanish and left feeling comfortable and advanced in my ability to express myself. I think that the interactive style was especially effective for my level, and allowed me to achieve a fluidness with the language that you don't always get from instruction-based classes. All the teachers were excellent and made me feel part of a community during my time here. Great experience overall!

Hola! I'm writing this for those of you who, like me, are in the early stages of learning Spanish. My 1st week at Español Interactivo Language School showed me that the staff really knows what they're doing, not only in terms of teaching Spanish, but also how to make the instruction fit the level of the students. During my career, I developed and taught a lot of adult education classes. Based on my experience, it's clear that Español Interactivo has developed and implemented an excellent approach to Spanish language instruction. They are also a great bunch of people, and I highly recommend their School.

Spanish Interactivo Language School is an awesome place to learn Spanish, right in the heart of Oaxaca city. The teachers are very well qualified, patient and will tailor classes to your specific needs so that you will get the most out of it. They take a practical approach to learning, and you will spend most of your time actually SPEAKING Spanish instead of just listening - it's the best way to learn! This is the right place for those who want to fast-track their learning. I also highly recommend getting hooked up with a homestay so you can practice more Spanish after class. The school is located right in the middle of all the action in Oaxaca, with markets, museums and delicious food all within walking distance. If you're looking for a top-notch school in the best location - you've found it!!

I can't recommend this school enough. I am a language teacher, and I can be a tough crowd when it comes to language classes. But I am always really happy with my Español Interactivo classes, which I have taken a number of times. A great balance of mainly conversation, with focused grammar reminders at the advanced level. The teachers are all very knowledgeable, friendly and they make it fun. Really enjoyable, and really helped me improve my Spanish!

I took a week of classes at this school. The teacher was quickly able to identify my weaknesses and get right to work on eliminating them. The atmosphere is relaxed, but focused. My learning took place during real conversations. Although I wasn't able to integrate everything I learned right away, between the classes and the study guide (the best guide to subjunctive I've seen), I'm still improving and the thanks go to Erica and the school. This is a family run school (mom and two daughters are here). There is a refreshing attention to providing building blocks that are appropriate to your knowledge of Spanish. My wife spent three weeks at this school and her Spanish took a quantum leap ahead. I love their style of teaching because it is focused on improving conversational skills. This is a great school that is well worth the cost.

I spent 1 month in Oaxaca with my wife and we attended 2 hours of private lessons, separately, every weekday morning. I had 3 teachers who were all so knowledgeable and well prepared. I am a novice Spanish speaker, but have recently been taking a deep dive. Español Interactivo's method was very helpful for incorporating conversational Spanish into my vocabulary. Most of all, though I just enjoyed learning about Mexican culture, art, and food, through the eyes of our teachers. We are going to continue Skype lessons with one of our teachers - that's how much we enjoyed this place. Highly recommend!
