★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Construida para conmemorar que Tenancingo fue escenario de la batalla que libró el General Maria Morelos y Pavón, el 22 de enero de 1812 en contra de Rosendo Porlier jefe de las fuerzas virreinales, quien había sometido a la población.
Porlier había tomado la población, pero desde el sur el Gral. Morelos llegó en auxilio de las poblaciones de Tenango y Zitácuaro. Porlier libró en ese entonces la batalla de Tecualoya contra Hermenegildo Galeana, en la que salió victorioso. Las fuerzas realistas marcharon entonces con dirección a Tenancingo hasta que presentaron batalla con Morelos. A pesar de haber logrado ganar la batalla, Morelos no prosiguió su marcha a la capital pues después de la batalla de Zitácuaro la Suprema Junta Nacional Gubernativa salió en fuga.
Built to commemorate that Tenancingo was the scene of the battle that General Maria Morelos y Pavón fought on January 22, 1812 against Rosendo Porlier, head of the viceregal forces, who had subdued the population.
Porlier had taken the population, but from the south, General Morelos came to the aid of the towns of Tenango and Zitácuaro. Porlier then fought the battle of Tecualoya against Hermenegildo Galeana, in which he emerged victorious. The realistic forces then marched towards Tenancingo until they presented battle with Morelos. Despite having managed to win the battle, Morelos did not continue his march to the capital because after the battle of Zitácuaro the Supreme National Government Board went on the run.
