Awful experience. Dishonest staff, poor quality, very worn out and unreliable cars. My advice is to stay away and rent from one of the many alternative and professional car hire companies rather than this group of crooks.

Totally disappointed. Have made a reservation for the central office. Went there on time and nobody even said Buenos días for 25 minutes! Then the reservation looked lost, then they found it and the car was booked at the airport. After that we realized, the price wasn't final - they added overpriced insurance, so the one day (small) car rental should have cost 200 USD with another 600 USD deposit that couldn't be made with my standard mastercard, that I already have used for the deposits, unless I pay another 30 USD. I would never ever use this service. Stay away!

Company is a complete scam and relentlessly rude staff. They kept us waiting there for almost 2 hours when we returned the car then told us we had to pay for a piece of plastic missing on the gear stick, for which they had no photographic evidence. We also had full insurance on the car which should have covered it. The staff insisted we provide a photo proving we didn’t break it, however when we asked them to provide a photo proving we ‘broke’ it, they refused. Avoid this place.

Shocked and disgusted at this rental company. We returned the car in perfect condition and paid for full insurance. The staff spent over half an hour ‘checking’ the car and insisted that we broke a small piece of plastic on the gear stick, and that we didn’t have full insurance. We did not ‘break’ this and despite the staff not having any photographic evidence that it was our fault , they spent the following hour insisting that we pay 1500 pesos for this small piece of plastic. DO NOT USE THIS RENTAL COMPANY! It’s a complete scam and I can see from other reviews we aren’t the first to experience this.

Terrible Experience. First of all they all work super slow, although no one except from us was in there they constantly told us to wait and sit down. They don't speak English, which is OK for a local company but not a global car rental enterprise. When we brought the car back they tried hard to squash as much money out of us as possible, kept checking the car multiple times and in the end sent us to a car wash because it was 'too' dirty. If they had to clean it would have cost 1000 pesos, a car wash i mexico costs 100 pesos. We could have talked about everything if they spoke English and would have been friendlier.

we booked online through the German Europcar Website. Even using a different credit card with a different name was no problem. We did not have to take any other insurance, only had to pay the deposit (1200USD, quite a lot for a Nissan March)

I have been a happy customer with Europcar for many years. But have been extremly disappointed with the service received in Mexico. At arrival at the agency , they made me take an additional insurance for the car for a cost higher than the rental itself which had already been paid through the website. without the insurance they would not let me take the car out. My reservation had been done through a visa card which provides me insurance for car rental anywhere in the world including mexico. I showed them the proof of insurance but this was not enough. as they needed an insurance registered in Mexico. The visa insurance people confirmed to me this demand was extremely unusual. Traveling with a toddler and a pregnant wife , I finally accepted as I did not want to be talking for hours at our arrival. I am very disappointed by Europcar and hope to get some reply from their customer service to eventually remain a Europcar Customer after that

Awful experience!!! The worst service and very unpleasant and dishonest staff. Do not rent a car from them. When we arrived to pick up the car they told us that there is no car waiting for us because we were 5 minutes late (however there were seven cars waiting outside). It took them 2 hours to sort out the car for us. Then they tried to scam us that we need an additional insurance which was more expensive then renting the car itself. It took us 30 minutes to convince them that we do not want it and we would not buy it. While waiting in the reception room, a guy who was working there spilled the coffee on us and our backpacks. When we dropped off the car it took so long for them to check the car and they said that the bumper was damaged, but it was not. We will never use Europcar again.
