★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This Car Company is an absolute disgrace.... We had the reservation booked through a third party rental company and took the option for full insurance coverage . Once arriving at the counter the attendant refused to let us have the car unless we take Europcars added insurance as well.... Unless we agreed to go to a time share presentation. I told them that that was unprofessional and insulting as a reputable car rental company. We showed them all the paperwork showing the extra 300 USD we paid for full coverage, but they did not care.... I took the guys picture and badge number and paid the extra insurance just to get out of the airport. In the end the third party insurance company refunded my $300 after a bunch of emails when I got home.... Europcar did absolutely nothing for us... And I will never ever use them again... I would love to post the attendants photo on this review..... The time share twist with a franchise car company should cost this guys job! Not Recommended. Believe me we are use to problems traveling that is just normal but this was over the top

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ They don’t include mandatory insurance in the price when you make reservation which almost doubles the price when you pick it up. There is local rental across the street from the airport by the gas station. It was a lot cheaper and they have decent cars

Just so everyone here viewing these reviews knows, the company pretends to be responding to the clients that have voiced a negative review, but nothing happens after they post their reply. Just another example of how this company will treat you as a customer. Use them at your own risk!
ORIGINAL REVIEW:
Do not use this company at the Huatulco airport. I rented a Nissan Kicks for 28 days that costed me $1,819 for the entire trip(seemed quite costly considering MSRP on a 2021 is $19,550). Before leaving, we did an inspection of the vehicle, and the agent stated that they do not do a walkaround any longer, rather, they send you photos of the vehicle to you by email. That said, we did not receive the email until after the office was closed for the day, so any dispute that we may have had, we could not handle in person on the same day of rental. The vehicle was marketed as an SUV, however, it's much more similar to a coup hatch back. The vehicle was delivered to us dirty with the gas tank empty. The agent stated that we did not have to return the vehicle with any gas since we received it empty. We literally drove it off the lot, straight across the street to the gas station to fill up as we could not go anywhere without making that stop. When we finished our trip, I took the vehicle to have it professionally washed and we made our trip to drop it off at the airport rental location. The original agent that handled our contract was there and treated us like strangers. He went on to say that we owed Europcar for gas(the email pic of the gas guage showed 3/8 full despite us receiving the vehicle with no gas). He also said that we had damaged the back seat where my daughter's sunscreened legs had left a little white residue on the seat cover. Despite having over a 1/4 tank of gas, the agent went on to charge us $115 for the gas and sunscreen on the seat cover. In my humble opinion, these charges are a result of dishonest business practices. My bet is that this location has a track record of this sort of behavior. Use Hertz or Budget, but STAY AWAY from Europcar at the Huatulco airport!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ There are good, bad and ugly rental car services, then this one is by far the ugliest. First of all, the price you got from Orbitz and the real one is 10x differences. No, I am not joking. The Mexican family in front of us also got scammed so this is not just a single case. 2) they refused to show you the insurance form coverage until you give them your credit card to be charged. 3) we're given a rental car that's caked with dust inside and out, we refused to take the car and they actually got pissed off at us. 4) finally was given a cleaner car after our insisting, the attendant told me we better bring it back clean or we will be charged for cleaning fee! Really? 5) when car was returned in the final day, got charged another $2 for deposit refund fee! 6) when the car was returned, they told us they will keep the copy of our insurance form as well therefore we got no copy with us. I believe they are trying to copy their "dirt". This entire experience is beyond horrible and despicable. It is blatantly an organization scam. I would strongly recommend DO NOT use their service at all cost. Also my family have been using Europcar Rental all over the world personal and business, how can this actually happening under their watch? The team working at HUX need a wholesale training or replacement with a fresh crew or the entire reputation of the company will for sure go down the drain with this office.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Wish I had read the negative reviews before renting from these banditos. First, they wouldn't honour Orbitz 4 day rental and insurance purchase, stating they don't accept any internet reservations except their own at nearly triple the price ($800 quoted vs Orbitz $305) and double the Europcar price from the downtown La Crucecita location. When returning the car, they added a $100 US cleaning fee because my daughter in law had her short haired dog on a blanket in the car. Really? That would hire 11 Mexican's for a day at their daily 170P minimum wage to clean the car. Bottom line: don't rent from these rip off artists (estafadores) 'cause all the rental taxis in the world will be cheaper in the end. At least try their competitors first.

They are dishonest to the point that it is more of a scam to steal money from unsuspecting first time users than a legitimate car company. I say first time uses as I can't see how anyone would use them a second time. No matter how well you may think you are at not getting scammed, it is not worth it. They have money exchange rate scams, combined with multiple "required insurance" scams, "not sufficient" gasoline scams, along with car drop off scams. The attendant seemed to be purposely slow to check in the car so I wouldn't have time to discuss the ridiculous rate. This was the worst experience I have had with a company that claimed to be legitimate. They are not. Please do not risk the enjoyment of beautiful Huatulco dealing with this company. All told, they are trying to charge me 3 times the reservation price and this is without any real or made up damage to the car. RUN AWAY!!!!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ My family and I are extremely disappointed in the services we encountered upon arrival to our destination. We were given no warning or notification that the insurance we had ALREADY purchased would not suffice, as Euro pushes people to purchase their own at a much higher price. The employees were not helpful in explaining why their insurance was required, which brings me to think they are just trying to trouble everyone for more of their money. Companies should be up front and clear if they have requirements BEFORE people purchase their services. It is much cheaper to rent a $50 taxi for the day, from people of the town who care about your experience rather than businesses like Euro who just see you as revenue. Don’t bother reaching out either as they automatically reply to these reviews for show, but won’t do anything further. Getting my refund back is already becoming a huge unnecessary hassle.
