Save yourself an awful experience. They will rip you off in any way possible. They tried initially with the insurance, but managed to rip me off at the end. Their excuse was that my gas tank was below the top line, and I had to pay a penalties plus the gas, charging me 7 times the actual cost of gas. They would not allow me to get out and fill the tank, i asked for the manager of the store and she did not allow for it. I had refilled the tank to full at the nearest gas station so it either marked less than full or the guy at the station was part of this MO.

They insisted I pay for CDW insurance that was x5 the rental cost. I have alternative insurance but they did not accept it. My contract said they could sell me insurance for $21usd /day but they refused that too. Their 'fully inclusive ' insurance was $980usd per week! I walked away without a car. Using Uber or Didi is a fraction of the price. Please people read and take note of the reviews. THIS BUSINESS IS A SCAM.

They are very friendly in the airport and take you via a shuttle to their main office just a few minutes away. Afterwards, we had to wait a really long time for support. The guy who was helping us out left randomly over four times and did not excuse himself or even notify me that he was leaving. I felt he talked down to me, and when I asked questions about the coverage he would just say that information would be provided in a bit. There were many people outside complaining about the service and how they "got" them with the insurance fees. A service that was supposed to be let's say 100 USD turned out to be a 600 USD service for premium insurance coverage or 400 USD for "regular" insurance coverage. I would advise against renting here if you are low on patience or time, and make sure to read the fine print and to ask questions before you start the process. I just wished they had been more transparent about things from the start.

I really want to counter balance the bad reviews. We had a really good experience. We booked online for Keddy by europcar through Rentalcars.com with full insurance. Check in was fast, simple without any tricks. They did try to sell us extra insurance but we didn't take it and they didn't insist. Lots of reviews talked about the mandatory credit card. We just used our french debit card without any trouble. During the trip I did drive back in a tree ?, damaging the trunk. During checkout, they didn't ask for any money as everything was covered by the insurance. Though reading the insurance policy, I was supposed to pay for the damage and then get refund ?, so even better than expected. I will definitely recommend this agency.

If I could give this place ZERO stars I would. I’ve never made a review or complaint, but this place 100% deserves it!!! Not only do they force you to accept their insurance (which basically doubles the price of the rental), but when I went to return the car they tried to charge me double the price again!!! I showed them the contract, which was paid in full and included insurance! Then they tried to come up with every excuse saying it was due, yet my contract showed everything was paid for. First they said I never paid the insurance (which is a lie because you can’t drive off the property unless you buy their insurance or pay a deposit equal to the total value of the car). Then they said it’s because I called to inquire about an early drop- off. Then they said it’s because the drop-off fee. They came up with a hundred excuses as to why I owed them money rather than just admitting or accepting they screwed up. The return process took almost a hour!! and i almost missed my flight!! Moral of the story, save yourself the headache and DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY!!! ????

Watch out for extra fees! They'll try to coerce you into getting the highest priced package when they have others available for a fraction of the cost! Only when I declined their offers and asked them to shuttle me back to the airport did they tell me about the basic package! Just be upfront with your customers, especially a solo female! Ugh! The gas prices are cheaper than what they offer, so it is best for you to fill up the tank and bring it back to them full. I declined their insurance too, you don't have to get theirs!

To say it in in short: One of the worst experiences I have had so far when renting a EuropCar car. The head office should urgently review the service and behaviour at this branch - in my view, they are damaging EuropCar's good reputation. The good first: There is a shuttle bus from the airport to the car rental and there is an air-conditioned waiting room . And you do a checkIn and they keep the order of that checkIn time. But this waiting room is also urgently needed, because the excessive procedure in which the last tank of petrol is sold ("... much cheaper than at the petrol stations outside ..."- who believes it) and in particular additional insurances are sold with almost threatening scenarios ("... what if a stone chip happens, the car has engine damage and has to be towed, you have an accident, the car is stolen..."). We had already taken out additional comprehensive insurance in advance through our service provider, which didn't stop the rental company from trying to take out additional insurance for us for 15 minutes. In addition, you get the instructions and a note with various instructions that the car is not to be returned too dirty, sandy, or with wet seats or liquids, otherwise extra fees will be due (see photos). Apart from the fact that this is rather unusual, since a final cleaning should normally be included in the rental price, the wording is also so vague that you hardly know what is still considered normal dirt and what "excessively dirty" means. Furthermore, one is advised to take photos or a video of the car at the handover in order to be able to document later that a scratch or damage was already present beforehand - this is also unusual as one normally receives a paper in which the previous damage is marked and acknowledged. So discussions at the end of the rental period are almost pre-programmed. Our car return than took 20 minutes, so better calculate some extra time when you return your car. In the end, we got a rental car that looked ok but definitely had some damage on the right front side - but we only noticed it when driving over 70 km/H ( strange sound of tire) In addition, the car (and it was a middle class model - not a small car) had an extremely low equipment - it may be that it was because we chose a car without navigation - but not even an obstacle warning when reversing is rather unusual in the middle class and would certainly also be in the interest of the rental company to avoid damage - a fool who thinks evil of it and they are just trying to sell the more expensive insurance better. Parallel to our rental procedure, we experienced how a nice lady was really scared with various threatening scenarios of what could happen in order to take out such an insurance - this is an unacceptable service behaviour. We also had to point out several times that we already have such a full insurance and do not need any more (original quote from the landlord: "... but what if the insurance does not pay..."). Due to this whole procedure, the check-in takes a good 30 minutes and the waiting room is also crowded due to the many people waiting. In summary: + shuttle bus from the airport with friendly driver + Air-conditioned waiting room o Vehicle selection - Duration of the process until the vehicle is handed over - Pressing the customer to take out an additional insurance policy - Urging to buy the last tank of fuel "cheaper" here at EuropCar - No form at handover listing the previous damages - Unclear regulation about the dirtiness of the vehicle and what a final cleaning might cost. - Vehicle was not 100% in order (may have been only with us so) in any case, a more extensive inspection of the vehicles is missing before he udder renting. In the end, by far the worst experience I have ever had with EuropCar and definitely something that can permanently damage their reputation as a good and high quality car rental company.
