★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Renter beware. We reserved a specific car and were given a different one. We reserved an automatic transmission and were given a manual transmission. We were forced to get their overpriced car insurance that cost more than the rental itself. We vehicle we got was clean from the inside but significantly banged up from the outside. The passenger door only locked from the inside while the car was on. Good thing we noticed this right after parking because we had valuables inside the car.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ It's a long process to rent a car in Chetumal Mexico and they don't have much of a selection. Ask as many questions u can before booking. That's all I have to say. And on top of that we have to walk across the street outside the airport to get to our car. No one was available to help us.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I rented from Budget (Cancún) and Hertz (Chetumal) too so I can compare. Europcar was the best of these: smooth process, digital paperwork, kind of old but good working car and easy drop-off. I'd choose Europcar next time I rent in Mexico.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Ridicolously overpriced damage invoice. Upon return, they said, it's not going to cost much, two day later they held back 500 USD of my deposit. On any try to contact them, they did not react at all.
Might be okay, if you don't have an issue with your car but in the case of a damage, it's a total ripoff.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I booked online and the car pick up didn't take for ever. Process was straight forward, I didn't feel taken advantage of. Car worked. Drop off was easy. My credit card didn't have mysterious charges... (sorry Europcar, I've had bad experiences with other agencies in the past) I'm happy the the service was as it should be.
