We rented the car very cheap (250 pesos). Everything was great, except for the situation of giving this back. We got charged extra for a "dent", which we didn't do, but couldn't prove it because of lack of pictures before rental. Recommend you to take many pictures with details, because such a tiny scratch can't be visible. We were very careful with the car. I suppose it was too cheap, just to be real. The next issue is the fuel. The policy is, that you get this car a little bit more than half full. So the same you must bring it back. We filled it up, it was almost reaching this level, but the worker said "not enough" and recommended to fill up for the next 100 pesos. So we did it and it was much more than before. The thing is. why not to give away fully tanked cars? It's not the easiest thing with the new car to realize what might be the proper amount.

We had a good experience with Europcar. Pedro was super helpful and friendly with us when we rented. He even offered us some tips on some sights to see. After having a huge problem at another rental agency, this car rental had us on the road so we could start our vacation.

I was worried when I saw the Google reviews for the airport branch of Europcar, where I picked up my first of two rental stints with them. But both my rental stints with them in Merida were great. My first Chevrolet hatchback was a decent car, with a bit of wear and tear, but it was fine - no problems driving on highways, down bumpy roads to cenotes etc. I got the same model for the second stint, but it was in much better nick: spotless, smoother to drive, hardly any scrapes or nicks. Collection and registration took less than ten minutes each time. No hard for insurance or whatnot - I booked on Opodo (via Kayak) so basic insurance was included in the price. No issues at drop-off either time. Perfect, really. Would 100 percent book again.

I called 9:20 am and gave all my information to generate the agreement and pick up at 10 am. I received a message at 9:45 saying that it wasn't available. Only have more expensive cars. Very unethical, I do not recommend you trust this rent a car.

Do not rent a vehicle here through a third party vendor (I.e, Expedia). You’ll be hit with hidden insurance fees despite being “covered” by 3rd party insurance. Not fully a knock on Europcar, but they could be more transparent in the intake process. They’ll try to upsell you on coverage, so be very deliberate and clear about what you need. A $120 USD cost (rental for two days) can turn into a $350 USD cost if you’re not careful.

Unreliable company with no problem solution competence. Rented a car a day ahead and they did the rental process in their system. Even payment was done. Asked me to present my driving license and passport the next day when picking up the car. Next day it took them 1 hour to perform the pickup process in their system and they asked again for my credit card to do a reservation for the deductible. Curious as the payment was already done a day before. Due to credit card limit it was not possible, other (wireless) cards like Google Pay/Apple Pay were not accepted. They didn‘t provide another solution. Even I had to ask for cancelling the contract. Finally I had to force them to provide a written statement about that as they rejected this. Thank you for nothing.

I have read some negative reviews here, but luckily my business with them was not negative personally. They did not try to sell me anything unnecessary, and did a very thorough inspection or the car before I took it, to document any existing chips or dents. Car was nice and without issues. Return was smooth and the deposit was returned in my account the next morning. Good experience here

Dreadful experience. Refused their insurance as I had my own, so was given a rediculous charge on my credit card. The pictures I was sent of the car were blurry and next to useless, and it was not the car I asked for. The car arrived with an empty tank. It also had heavy scratches which had clearly been there a while. The return was little better, with a poor experience with the rep who checked the car. .I was charged for a small surface mark which was so small it may have been there already. The female rep also wanted to charge me for bumper scratches which I had to show her on the photos were already there. Never use Europcar!! I'd sooner walk..
