★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 1902, 27 Octubre.- Inaugurada la cárcel en el lugar del antiguo montepío y hospital. Las obras se habían iniciado en 1899 aunque adaptada en su interior, luciría la nueva construcción hacia la calle un espléndido frontispicio.
1902, October 27.- Inaugurated the jail in the place of the old montepío and hospital. The works had begun in 1899, although the interior was adapted, the new construction would show off a splendid frontispiece facing the street.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ La ex cárcel municipal de León es ahora un museo interactivo donde puedes conocer historias que fueron contadas por personas que estuvieron en su momento cumpliendo su condena ahí; conserva una celda en su estado original (sin remodelar). Fui en el mes de diciembre de 2016 y la entrada del museo es gratuita.
***Nota: La ubicación que se encuentra en google-maps es incorrecta, la cárcel se encuentra en la esquina de Justo Sierra y Belisario Domínguez. Incluso la foto que subieron es de una tienda. La que subí yo, es del interior, pero si se van a la ubicación del maps en la esquina que les refiero, ahí podrán ver la entrada y si acercan la foto, hasta arriba dice: "Cárcel Municipal..."
The former municipal jail of León is now an interactive museum where you can learn stories that were told by people who were at the time serving their sentence there; retains a cell in its original state (without remodeling). I went in the month of December 2016 and the entrance of the museum is free.
*** Note: The location found on google-maps is incorrect, the jail is located at the corner of Justo Sierra and Belisario Domínguez. Even the photo they uploaded is from a store. The one that I uploaded is from the interior, but if you go to the location of the maps in the corner that I refer to you, there you can see the entrance and if you zoom in on the photo, it says: "Municipal Jail ..."
