A los quince años manifestó sus deseos de ser religiosa, fue así como padre Luís Felipe Neri de Alfaro la envió al Santuario de Atotonilco para formarse y tomar los hábitos. Murió cinco años antes de ser concluido el templo convento de monjas.
 The former convent of the Purísima Concepción was built thanks to the contributions made by María Josefa Lina de la Canal and Hervás, product of the inheritance received.
