★ ★ ★ ★ ★ El Colegio Apostólico de Propaganda FIDE de San José de Gracia se fundó en 1803 en Orizaba, Veracruz. El complejo educativo original comprendía aparte del Templo de San José, el exconvento, el santuario del Señor de Otatitlán, hoy en día Rectoría de Nuestra Señora de la Soledad y un extenso huerto donde hoy en día existe el Parque bicentenario a un lado del Rio de Orizaba; de acuerdo a planos de Manuel Tolsá.
Después de las terribles Leyes de Reforma, el inmueble fue fraccionado, gran late de los terrenos pasarían a ser propiedades Manuel Gutiérrez Zamora, entonces gobernador de Veracruz. Durante la invasión francesa fue ocupado como cuartel del ejército de Napoleón III, posteriormente el inmueble sería utilizado como patio de vecindad provocando un considerable deterioro. En algún momento la iglesia metodista ocupó el lugar, al igual una logia masónica; fue utilizado como gimnasio, cine y arena de box. Finalmente las vicisitudes del inmueble terminaron en el 2015 con la intervención del Ayuntamiento de Orizaba, logrando que el Instituto Nacional de Antropología e Historia Interviniera para los dictámenes correspondientes. Actualmente hay visitas guiadas.
The FIDE Apostolic Propaganda College of San José de Gracia was founded in 1803 in Orizaba, Veracruz. The original educational complex included apart from the Temple of San José, the ex-convent, the sanctuary of the Lord of Otatitlán, today the Rectory of Our Lady of Solitude and an extensive orchard where today the bicentennial Park exists on one side of the Rio de Orizaba; according to plans of Manuel Tolsá.
After the terrible Reform Laws, the property was subdivided, great land beats would become Manuel Gutiérrez Zamora properties, then governor of Veracruz. During the French invasion it was occupied as the headquarters of Napoleon III's army, later the building would be used as a neighborhood patio causing considerable deterioration. At some point the Methodist church occupied the place, as did a Masonic lodge; It was used as a gym, cinema and boxing arena. Finally, the vicissitudes of the property ended in 2015 with the intervention of the Orizaba City Council, making the National Institute of Anthropology and History intervene for the corresponding opinions. Currently there are guided tours.
