Es la iglesia más grande del sur del estado de Puebla, cuenta con la pila bautismal más grande de todo México y además es patrimonio del Estado de Puebla. En verdad es una joya arquitectónica muy importante y hermosa de Izúcar de Matamoros!!. Además es patrono de los 14 barrios que conforman Izúcar, su fiesta se lleva a cabo el 8 de Agosto

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Ojalá pronto tenga la restauración necesaria, ya que un nuevo movimiento y sería una pena que tuviera más derrumbes y daños. Se nota que es un hermoso y gran templo.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Un ex convento su atrio llenó de historia su iglesia sufrió una quemazón a mediados del siglo pasado fue restaurado su ex convento tuvo dos etapas de restauración a cargo del INAH
y parte de esta junto con el atrio se vieron TOTALMENTE
afectadas con el fuerte sismo del 2017 presiosa mente el epicentro fu aquí en nuestra junta auxiliar de Rabioso.
