Worth the wait (and there will probably be one). Once seated, you will be told that there is no menu and you’re going to be served whatever comes out of the kitchen, one dish at a time. Go with it. They’ll keep coming out with more rounds of food until you’re full. Everything that comes out of that kitchen is fresh and reflect culinary traditions in rural and indigenous communities. Get the mezcal and whatever agua frescas they have that day. And say yes if they ask if you’re comfortable eating Oaxacan ants. Bring cash!

I like the set menu, but they should definitely tell you the cost upfront and especially that it’s cash only! We had to scramble to find all the bills to be able to pay for our meal (which turned out to be $3800 for 4 of us) which was not a good experience. The food was good but not mind blowing, & a lot of the courses did taste very similar. The presentation is very nice.

Such a cool experience. This place has no menu, so they just bring out plates until you tell them to stop. We got an opportunity to try many dishes we had not had before. They do ask about allergies/food preferences. I’m gluten free and they were able to accommodate. Bring cash, it’s cash only.

As written in many other reviews, what's amazing about this place is the concept. They have a different menu everyday, the dish they prepare will be uniquely for you, at that moment, and always with a full on explanation on how it's prepared and why they decided on preparing that dish. They will be bringing a set of new dishes until you wish to stop (obviously the price depends on the number of dishes you had). The waiters and staff are very nice and polite and kind. Definitely worth the experience, expect to pay a little more tho :)

Amazing chef's choice plates with insane flavors. Prices are quite good in a price-quality scale. The mixture of flavors, service and presentation are one of the best things I could see in the restaurant. Definitely coming back for more.

I hardly ever write reviews but I cannot resist helping to inform future diners on this one. As MANY people have already written here, there is no menu which in theory shouldn’t be a problem - many restaurants operate on a daily menu or specials format, HOWEVER they do not inform you of what you will be eating whatsoever, how long you will be there or how much you’re going to pay in the end. We were told it would be a 30 min wait, but we waited over an hour to be seated even though there were plenty of open seats available. The waiting time is not communicated well, and I gather part of the reason for it is that the kitchen staff is choosing to cook the same meal sequence for all guests at once. This was not at all clear or communicated upon arrival. We were hoping to stop by for a quick/normal length lunch and be able to move on to the next thing in our day but this “experience” took almost 3 hours in total. Upon arrival we were not given any instructions on what this experience entailed and we were served drinks after 15 min of waiting without anyone coming to our table. I’m sorry, but this place is an actual scam and a tourist trap to be sure. It would should be yanked by the Better Business Bureau. The food itself was tasty, but we received only four small plates (see pics) and two beers and ended up paying $1000 (?!?!?!). Come on now….

Very disappointing. Certainly not worth waiting two hours for. We had six small items and were done.. Lack of flavors and originality, with flavors and sauces bleeding in from one dish to the other. Everything seeming to contain refried beans and the same sauce, and the meats lacked flavor altogether. Honestly, a decent taco stand has much better cooked meat, and many more delicious flavors. This was doubtless fantastic at one point . But now lacks creativity and flavor. And this area is replete with great restaurants. So I would say don’t waste your day. But beware. It’s still crowded with lots of American tourists.

What a cool concept. This is a small eatery with no set menu. They will keep bringing dishes until you say you are done. The food varies with plenty of fresh local and almost local ingredients. Most tables have a clear view of the kitchen so the experience is to watch the food being prepared and then getting to taste it immediately. Some tips: - Come early and be prepared to wait - They will take your number and call you when the table is ready - They have a small waiting area where you can grab drinks and people watch - This is a cash only place- (we spent about $1500 MEX for eight plates, two drinks, and tips) - They are busy, and may not explain the concept of the restaurant
