★ ★ ★ ★ ★ La fábrica de papel San Rafael ya no se encuentra en operación desde hace varios años, sin embargo, tuvo su auge entre 1960 y mediados de los 70s, en esos tiempos llegó a ser considerada la más grande de América Latina. Anteriormente incluso se daban paseos para conocerla internamente y aprender un poco de la elaboración del papel, era fascinante, desafortunadamente dejó de operar y se perdió todo esto.
Se encuentra en el poblado de San Rafael, es un lugar que tiene construcciones de estilo europeo, ya que los fundadores provenían de Francia y España( el pueblo se originó gracias a la fábrica de papel) lo que le da un toque muy especial. Aún se conservan edificios como "El salón de diversiones", la llamada 'tienda grande" (en este edificio se encontraba el Cine y el casino obrero) y el edificio más emblemático "El Casino"( se encuentra ya en muy malas condiciones pero aún podemos imaginar la época en que se encontraba en todo su esplendor).
San Rafael está rodeado de bosques y montañas y entre sus atractivos naturales más famosos está "la cascada de los diamantes" y es el acceso a la montaña Iztaccíhuatl, la famosa "mujer dormida".
The San Rafael paper mill has no longer been in operation for several years, however, it had its peak between 1960 and the mid-70s, at that time it was considered the largest in Latin America. Previously, they even took walks to get to know it internally and learn a little about the elaboration of the paper, it was fascinating, unfortunately it stopped operating and all this was lost.
It is located in the town of San Rafael, it is a place that has European-style buildings, since the founders came from France and Spain (the town originated thanks to the paper factory) which gives it a very special touch. Buildings such as "The amusement room", the so-called 'big store "(in this building were the Cinema and the workers' casino) and the most emblematic building" El Casino "(it is already in very poor condition but still we can imagine the time when it was in all its glory).
San Rafael is surrounded by forests and mountains and among its most famous natural attractions is "the waterfall of diamonds" and is the access to the Iztaccíhuatl mountain, the famous "sleeping woman".
