★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Awesome stay at the Fairmont Mayakoba in December, 2021. We stayed for two nights.
Pros:
- gorgeous and comfortable rooms, provided with free coffee, bug spray, etc.
- super friendly staff! Service was incredible all around
- loved the variety of pools
- beach was fantastic and well-kept (no seaweed) and the staff was incredible with towel service, etc.
- the free jungle cruise around the canals was amazing!! Definitely recommend
Cons:
- to get to the beach you need to use a golf cart which was fine (never waited more than 5 mins), but biking there is long and confusing and we received a lot of conflicting directions
- food options are expensive and somewhat limited as it’s a bit of an effort to leave the property

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We greatly enjoyed our stay. The staff did everything possible to accommodate us and our guests in room 4104 (Our son, daughter-in-law and granddaughter - - - Gail and I were in room 4204). We enjoyed staying in a full service hotel that had a casual, friendly atmosphere.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The resort is beautiful and exclusive. But they want you in and out. I’ve never been denied access to all food and activities upon check out. Usually you can leave your backs and they’ll let you enjoy the activities the rest of the day. Not here. Once you check out you instantly have to pay for everything. Also, their all-inclusive isn’t really all-inclusive. You still have to pay for a lot of things. If you order service for example they charge a “delivery fee” for every item you order. They say it’s a flat fee and then when it’s delivered it ends up being way more. It felt like the staff just wanted us out by the end of the week, and mind you, my wife and I don’t drink and we’re not rowdy. It genuinely felt like poor service. I give it a one star because when you compare it to the dozens of other all-inclusive resorts in the area, many of which I’ve stayed, this is the last one I’d return to. Everyone has their idea of a good vacation and this spot might be someone’s cup of tea. But if you’re looking for a great all-inclusive, beautiful, on the beach resort, gorgeous spa, delicious food, all-inclusive activities… my recommendation would be go to Xcaret, not Fairmont Mayakoba.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We were fortunate to hold our wedding here in February 2022. This property is magical and everything about our wedding experience, planning and stay was incredible. We worked with Patty in the weddings department and she went above and beyond to make our event pure magic. She eased all out anxiety in the planning stages, and made sure the day went smoothly. I will forever cherish our time at the Fairmont Mayakoba. Our dearest friends and family would agree 100%

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Amazing place, highly recommend. It's a gated community and is very safe compared to other Cancun hotels. Everyone including the staff are friendly and really willing to help solve your problems. Free SUP, free catemaran, free kayaking and boat tours. The boat tour was great and gives you an idea of how big this place really is. Feels like a dream and escape from reality.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Fantastic hotel. This should form part of the true definition of a 5 star hotel.
The food was fantastic anywhere you go, and the avocado… what can I say…
I would recommend to get the all inclusive package as the food is very expensive otherwise.
Great rooms, staff and facilities.
PD: Kudos to Jorge who took care of our group of 12 people for several days and every single on of us loved him.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I just spent an enjoyable week at the resort. While the renovations do hamper the beach experience, the majority of the hotel is fully functional and the upgrades are well done. The lobby bar for cocktails and sushi was my favorite (kids can order off the room service menu). Having said that, the food was solid everywhere. I only wish there were more on resort activities both day and evening.
