Picha and his son are an amazing team. They were so nice and accommodating. They put us on fish (mahi mahi) right away! Some of the best fishing and one of the best fishing guides I have ever had. (Insider tip- ask them for some ceviche! You will be glad you did)

Where do I start? Picha was recommended by friends. They told us he was more expensive BUT he caught fish. We heard there was Tuna in the area...and we wanted them. I called Picha and asked him to book us for the day for tuna and how much. His words were.. 1200 USD. I said I made pesos and he still said 1200 USD. I asked if we could pay by credit card, he said yes. THEN I told him we were carb free and not to bring any carbs. I also told him only soda water and a bottle of rum and vodka. The boat was full of beer, soda, and chips. He gave us ceviche on tostadas. There were only two of us. We go 1 hour and 40 minutes looking for bait. We got none. He says there is a red tide and that is why. I told him we were looking for big fish, specifically tuna. He said we had to go out 30 miles to get them...okay with us, we have all day. Then he brings us to a palapa buoy to fish for Dorado. Then he says we are heading to another palapa to get more Dorado. We say to fish for Marlin on the way. We do and even had one on the line, it got away. Long story short, I don't think he had any idea where they were but he tried. I have no doubt he is a fantastic fisherman but his crew...not so much. We get to the shore and ask who we pay. Mario says we owe 1200 USD. We give him a USD credit card and he says he can't take it. He says we need to pay the mex equivalent. We say that Picha said USD and that card will not work. We then have to ring in FIVE credit card transactions for 5000 pesos. 25000 pesos for 4 little Dorado and one 15 pounder. Very disappointing in an ocean full of fish. Two time I made it clear to him that we were there for tuna and he never said there were none. He did not listen to us, his customers, once...although he did have two bottles of Soda water for the day. Caveat emptor.

INCREDIBLE! We went out twice with Picha and his crew to fish this past week (March, 2022). Our first trip was a family fishing trip near the Marietas Islands with 4 kids and 3 adults. From catching sardines to catching fish non stop, the trip did not disappoint. Picha was so patient with the kids (ages 6 to 9) and let them be involved as they wanted to be in the fishing. The next day we headed out deep see fishing, just Pitcha, his crew, and my son (age 6) and I. dolphins danced around the boat on numerous occasions. While we unfortunately didn't catch a tuna or a marlin (my son wanted to head back after 4 hours of trolling), Picha wouldn't let the day end without my 6 year old catching a fish and we caught several mackerel and other fish. My son was right out there doing everything with Pitcha and his guys. They helped him cast and reel, hook the fish, and gut the fish. We had the most incredible two days fishing with Picha and can't wait to go back and fish some more.
