★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I unexpectedly stayed at La Finca for the first two weeks of 2022. This turned out to be the best intro to EPC that I could’ve hoped for! This hostel has a unique vibe compared to other locations in the area. It’s very bohemian and grass roots focused, with buildings made of natural materials, and the landscaping done with indigenous plants. The host Eduardo is one of the kindest people I’ve ever met, and speaks fluent Spanish, English, and French. Eduardo goes above and beyond to accommodate his guests, and takes great pride in his hostel, which is reflected in its cleanliness and attention to detail. The hostel is smaller than Sendero, allowing you a more intimate experience and chance to connect with fellow climbers. The price is also right, with beds, rooms, and campsites at a lower rate than Sendero. I highly recommend this location to climbers, and wish Eduardo and crew all the best! :)

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Loved our stay! Rustic vibe with good views of EPC and great people. There are fancier places to stay nearby, but nowhere has the cool natural build structures and local community of Finca. About a 15 minute walk to climbing with access to outdoor kitchen with cooking equipment. Thanks Eduardo!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I stayed at Finca El Caminante for about a week in January 2022 and it was phenomenal! As a female American traveler and climber, I was looking for a place that felt safe and cozy for my first trip to El Potrero. I am so happy my searches landed me at Finca. This place is small, artsy, unique, laid-back, well-priced, eclectic, and fun. The manager Eduardo, who is an English speaker from Chicago is amazingly warm, inviting, kind, and generous, and very involved in the daily ins and outs of Finca. The private room/cabins here are absolutely beautiful and have amazing artistic touches. I find that the rates are very reasonable and actually quite a bit less than some of the other popular Climber Campgrounds like La Posada or Rancho El Sendero. It is important to note that this location is a bit further from the climbing canyon, but subsequently, a bit closer to the market/downtown. It is about 20 minutes walking to the canyon, and 20 minutes walking downtown. The walks feel very safe. Eduardo and his kind crew of work staff were generally open to giving me or my friend a ride where we needed. They also provide an affordable taxi to and from the airport. Edoardo is very easy to reach and communicate with via WhatsApp. If you had a vehicle here the distance situation would be ideal, but walking is doable as well. I loved my stay at Finca, The vibe at Finca is more local, natural, laid-back feeling then some of the “ resort-like” tailored just to American climber campgrounds. That said, it currently lacks a few practical amenities like a climbing shop, covid testing, consistent restaurant service- but I have a feeling these services will expand over time and it is not hard to walk somewhere nearby to get food or other needs. Because of Finca’s focus on ecological sustainability, supporting local artists, and promoting inclusion and culture, it just felt good to support Finca with my business/presence. They hosted various fun activities here and are really interested in promoting artistic expression. I really enjoyed the more quiet and chill vibes that this place generally has, it feels like a little nature escape in this busy bustling canyon. Not to mention, it’s a (non-official) refuge for the cutest little furry friends! I will be back in a heartbeat.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Had a great time. If you are a climber this is the place to be. I was there for 3 week and enjoy by stay at Finca. It is a small family, nice, calm and open to party. You can find a good balance there depend on what you want. Edouardo and his crew gave me a warm welcome. I already miss the place.
There is hot shower and you can clean your clothes. Not every place have this services.
Thanks a lot finca

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Such an amazing place to stay. I can't recommend it enough. The host is friendly and cares about your experience, often going above and beyond to make you feel welcome.
Another reason to stay here is the focus on being eco-friendly. Unlike other hotels, Finca El Caminante focuses on native local landscaping, a chlorine-free pool where the water is filtered by plants, earthen buildings and composting all organic waste. The commitment to the environment is commendable.
The host is also committed to the community, he hosted an English teacher and an ecology researcher to help them realize their goals. He even opened his location to a holistic soap and lotion merchant. As a visiting rock climber, the host loaned us the guide book, drove us into town to get groceries and connected us with the locals for great climbing!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Finca a fantastic place to stay in Potrero if you like natural buildings and a very cool bio pool. The multiple story main building has silks and a great view from the roof. Eduardo is a really nice host and will help you if you need anything. I am really excited to come back here. The cob house with the reciprocal roof is one of a kind!
