★ ★ ★ ★ ★ La Flama de la Solidaridad es una escultura del artista y escultor mexicano Leonardo Nierman, quien ha presentado su trabajo por todo el mundo y su obra esta representada en numerosos museos de diversos países. Esta pieza data de 1982, y posteriormente fue dedicada a las victimas y los damnificados que dejo a su paso por la ciudad de Monterrey el Huracan Gilberto.
Esta obra fue colocada en su ubicación actual el 17 de septiembre de 1989, un año después del paso del huracán Gilberto por la ciudad, y en la placa conmemorativa que data en aquel entonces colocaron las autoridades, se puede leer el siguiente texto:
"Al cumplirse el primer año de embate del Huracán Gilberto, el pueblo de Monterrey rinde tributo a quienes perecieron y deja este testimonio como reconocimiento permanente a la solidaridad que unió a los regiomontanos con los pueblos hermanos."
Actualmente luce un poco descuidada por la falta de mantenimiento, sin embargo, es una obra que permanecerá en la historia de la ciudad por los estragos que dejó el huracán Gilberto, que fue uno de los fenómenos naturales más intensos y devastadores registrados en el océano Atlántico durante el siglo XX, y que a su paso por Nuevo León, dejó varios centenares de personas fallecidas.
La Flama de la Solidaridad is a sculpture by Mexican artist and sculptor Leonardo Nierman, who has presented his work all over the world and his work is represented in numerous museums in various countries. This piece dates from 1982, and was subsequently dedicated to the victims and the victims that Hurricane Gilberto left behind in the city of Monterrey.
